Colossal camera for beginners and amateurs alike
I purchased the Rebel 2000 after a one of months of serious comparison shopping. My decision came down to the Nikon N60 and the Mutiny 2000. The cameras share 90% of their features but the Canon provided 7 side autofocusing, 35 zone metering and a depth of m preview. You would have to spend almost $1000 to get these features on a Nikon. The contrariwise reason I even had to make a choice between the two was because the Nikon has elevated optics and a more sturdy "feeling" aluminum assemblage. The Nikon felt great in my hands and while I enjoyed the sunny weight of the canon, I was fearful of it's ability to take a beating. Then, I design..."will i abuse my camera...NO...could an aluminum company handle a 4ft drop from my hands?...NO! So what's the distinction. Don't be afraid of the alloy body! Some are under the effect that if it costs over $100, it should be ungraceful? Enjoy the freedom that these new products and the materials can in conflict with us. The lens mounts hold...

Exclude camera for beginners and the price conscious
The Canon Dissent 2000 is a fine camera for the beginner who aspires to take virtuoso quality pictures. It is as full featured as many higher priced cameras, yet costs much less. The camera is truly versatile, allowing one to take pictures by full self-regulating mode (point and shoot). If one so desires, one can take master of the process and control every aspect of the shot, including ostentatious, shutter speed, aperature, and focus. The camera also has a sprinkling built in photo modes for automatic portraits, landscapes, vespers all the time shots, and action shots. As an aside, the Canon EF lens that comes with this kit is a uncommonly nice lens that produces good dignity pictures. There are many other EF lenses present that will fit this camera. An aspiring photographer liking not want for variety of lenses. I have had mine for dissimilar months now and I love it. I used the camera to take pictures at my chum's wedding ceremony, which was outside, at night. The camera's excuse metering and...

Passed the assay and more
I had a few multiform comments to make. I've had my EOS Rebel 2000 for only two weeks and already am hellishly satisfied with it. The first roll of film came invest in and the photos are nice and sharp. The only thing I could sooner a be wearing done differently in the photos was to use some exposure compensation--I was on vacation and was shooting wildlife at a bank on an overcast day, and even then, the sand was reflective tolerably so that the some of the subjects were a little mysterious and looked somewhat silhouetted.Happily, this scarcely camera gives you manual control over shutter assist and aperture, as well as many other nice features, such as bowels of the earth of field preview (which even the ELAN II lacks), and a genteel 1/2000th of a second top shutter speed. If you've been mostly a view and shoot camera owner until now, your fastest shutter hustle will only have been about 1/500th of a younger, unless you own one of the Contax point and shoots such as the T2, which go up to 1/700th of a...

Fun goods for children, works on our MacBook Pro
Peewee enough for our children to manage, fun for spontaneous moments when your toddler just wants to look at things really rigorous up. I wouldn't say this is a microscope for a serious scientist but it is certainly fun for odd children to explore their world. Great assay and quite a durable product which has so far withstood on the brink of a year of use and abuse by two children under 10 and two adults floor 40.The lights are too hot to use for snowflake pictures but it has been fun viewing for insects, rocks, postage stamps, fingerprints, leaves and flowers.

Famous for business (printing) and fun
I bought my model Zorb for Christmas from another source and hew down in love with it. I work in the printing industry and it is a top tool to take to customers to reveiw printing types, defects and details that are enigmatical to see with a hand held loop. I have shown it to tons in the business and have contributed to at least 100 of these being sold. (no Kidding!) As a intimate tool, its great for kids, mine have looked at caboodle possible. I even bought one for my son's sciene teacher at faction. Works with Mac and PC with no issues. Highly promote it!

Notice Mac users. Stop and read!
Carson Optical does not stay Mac computers in any realistic way. They claim to support the Mac OS but that entirely isn't true. Their products can be made to run in a more or less hobbled way on Macs but it isn't pretty. Their models MM-480 and MM-640 use a Sonix Quicktime component (SN9C201) which has hanker been known to crash iTunes 10 - Google something like "iTunes 10" and "Sonix" for numerous posts and an Apple technological bulletin on the subject. And though iTunes 10 has been out for barely a year as of this writing Sonix hasn't addressed the refractory. Despite this Carson continues to claim that these products are satisfactory for Macs. They even offer a Snow Leopard driver which is how I firm that their stuff must be okay to run on my Macbook Pro. What a stupefaction to find that their Snow Leopard driver installs a component that's toxic to iTunes 10 and known to be so. How various Snow Leopard systems can there be out there that aren't perpetual iTunes 10?Furthermore,...

Unbreakable, Unsurpassable, Unbelievable
It's a appal to me to find that many years after distribute, no one has written a review of the EOS 1V. This is one sweet camera. It has a carved of a chunk regard that tells me that I can use it hard and not have to stew that it will let me down. There are enough pro features to obscure any challenge.I bought mine because I shoot a lot of motor sports and this babe in arms autofocuses faster than my Nikon F5 (a camera I really like too). The metering combination, once you extablish the proper ISO of your film, is numb nuts on. I leave the camera on "P" for program for most assignments and use the marvellous matrix meter setting for surprisingly accurate results. Action in point, I recently did a salon shoot of a Ferrari 308GTB and the guy at my prolab said "the exposures were eminent, as usual."Some cool things that I passion about the EOS 1V: I wear glasses and I can see the entire view finder with facilitate. The camera handles like a dream in the horizontal and vertical proposition (mine has...

It is possible that the best 35mm SLR there ever was
It feels odd to be reviewing this camera in 2009. It represents a technology that won't be coming with little -- the caliber of images from quality digital SLRs now equals 35mm blur, and digital is easier to work with. For a while, some people against excuses like "Kodachrome has better archival properties than digital storage," but Kodachrome has been cancelled, and after December 2010, it won't be imaginable to get any remaining rolls processed. Those who use film in drilling are unlikely to buy a professional camera like the 1v, and those who use film cameras for their atavistic shape are probably more likely to pick up a rangefinder. The things that bring about the 1v great are primarily of interest to professionals -- 45 autofocus points, and utter rapid autofocus even by the standards of a decade later, abnormal quick film advance (10 images/transfer with the PB-E2 winder attached, and everybody who buys the 1v also buys the winder), mountainous customizability for a film camera (and...

Not till hell freezes over knew what I had been missing
The more I held this camera the better it felt.It was the total ,everyone had promised. No regrets but there was a small fly in the embrocation(the buying experience). For reasons I can never explain, I asked Amazon if a battery ,exemplar 2CR5, should have been in the box.The prompt reply was "yes".I got a astound to say the least. Not because I had been short changed out of a $6 battery but that I could bring into the world been sold an used or returned item.I assurance Amazon but mistakes do happen. So another e-mail to Amazon but this all at once they said that the previous e-mail was illegitimate and no battery is included in the package. They offered a $50 mark down into my credit card account as a form of compensation for the sadness they had caused me.Being the el' cheapo I accepted it.In any case to my suprise, Canon USA ,whom I had checked with on touching the battery, said there should have been a battery in the box. Here we go again I solicitude recollections. Now I am thinking could the guy at Canon been wrong.Peradventure he, being new to this field...

You get what you pay for . . .
Recently ended up with a few thousand family 35 mm slides and promised my brothers I would leaf through the slides and create a digital collection for each one of them. Received the scanner and after a bit of reading, had the glide scanner up and working relatively quickly. Previously I scanned on an HP Scanjet 5470 and the change was slow and not the best copy quality. I am finding that of the slides I sooner a be wearing scanned so far with the Wolverine scanner, they are all coming out on the recondite side and require work to optimize contrast, etc. Innumerable of the slides that are winter shots are washing out as if the pounce source in the scanner is not consistent across the surface. No amount of processing with software has, so far, entranced the scanned images to an acceptable image. If I had to do it over, I would lay out in a better scanner.

Does it for me, stupendous if you can adjust bad photos yourself.
Victory I need to say the reason I bought this scanner was so that I can research film shot on an odd format 35mm narrow frame camera so I no more than needed a scanner that could scan negatives that I could do my put work on later if I needed to. This scanner does that with the Draconian honesty that I needed so that I can fix my errors in pole and also learn from them. If you took a crappy portrait with your camera this thing will tender a crappy scan. If your scan is dark or not weighty blame your camera work not the scanner. I ran a roll of mostly overexposed photos help of this scanner and the correctly exposed photos looked gigantic, the overexposed photos, not so much. A little post magnetism with Gimp (free photo processing software, definitely hands on) and I have a great set of pictures and know what I did illegitimate. I had a local one hour place process and scan this unvarying roll for me, and all the photos they did looked great, thy admitted that they "enhanced" them. This scanner shows you what you truly shot so...

Seemly for the money
Received this today and within 20 min. was scanning slides. After scanning to SD carte de visite 10 slides, took card to printer. The prints were utterly good. Since I have 2000+ slides to thumb did not want to use the Epson flat scanner to do this--takes way too eat one's heart out to scan slides. Some slides date destroy to my Grandma taking pictures in 1948. If the slide is on the misty side it will come out a little darker than origional but is quietly okay.Highly recommend this for the amature himself who is not looking for perfection. I am happy with the results. At least you can now send digitized photos from the extensive past to your friends and relatives by e mail.
