Prominent camera for beginners and amateurs alike
I purchased the Mutineer 2000 after a couple of months of serious similarity shopping. My decision came down to the Nikon N60 and the Dissenter 2000. The cameras share 90% of their features but the Canon provided 7 dot autofocusing, 35 zone metering and a depth of candidates preview. You would have to spend almost $1000 to get these features on a Nikon. The simply reason I even had to make a choice between the two was because the Nikon has higher-ranking optics and a more sturdy "feeling" aluminum assemblage. The Nikon felt great in my hands and while I enjoyed the set alight weight of the canon, I was fearful of it's ability to take a beating. Then, I musing..."will i abuse my camera...NO...could an aluminum majority handle a 4ft drop from my hands?...NO! So what's the dissimilarity. Don't be afraid of the alloy body! Some are under the parody that if it costs over $100, it should be crucial? Enjoy the freedom that these new products and the materials can furnish us. The lens mounts hold...

First-class camera for beginners and the price conscious
The Canon Rebel 2000 is a slender camera for the beginner who aspires to take professional quality pictures. It is as copious featured as many higher priced cameras, yet costs much less. The camera is a certain extent versatile, allowing one to take pictures by full knee-jerk mode (point and shoot). If one so desires, one can take curb of the process and control every aspect of the shot, including scoot, shutter speed, aperature, and focus. The camera also has discrete built in photo modes for automatic portraits, landscapes, twilight shots, and action shots. As an aside, the Canon EF lens that comes with this kit is a terribly nice lens that produces good grade pictures. There are many other EF lenses present that will fit this camera. An aspiring photographer bequeath not want for variety of lenses. I have had mine for distinct months now and I love it. I used the camera to take pictures at my confrere's wedding ceremony, which was outside, at night. The camera's without equal metering and...

Passed the check-up and more
I had a few multiplex comments to make. I've had my EOS Rebel 2000 for only two weeks and already am very satisfied with it. The first roll of film came endorse and the photos are nice and sharp. The only thing I could oblige done differently in the photos was to use some exposure compensation--I was on vacation and was shooting wildlife at a careen on an overcast day, and even then, the sand was reflective passably so that the some of the subjects were a little blackness and looked somewhat silhouetted.Happily, this itsy-bitsy camera gives you manual control over shutter further and aperture, as well as many other nice features, such as regions of field preview (which even the ELAN II lacks), and a moderate 1/2000th of a second top shutter speed. If you've been mostly a sense and shoot camera owner until now, your fastest shutter rapidity will only have been about 1/500th of a espouse, unless you own one of the Contax point and shoots such as the T2, which go up to 1/700th of a...

Fun merchandise for children, works on our MacBook Pro
Negligible enough for our children to manage, fun for spontaneous moments when your offspring just wants to look at things really neck up. I wouldn't say this is a microscope for a serious scientist but it is certainly fun for interested children to explore their world. Great assay and quite a durable product which has so far withstood little short of a year of use and abuse by two children under 10 and two adults over and above 40.The lights are too hot to use for snowflake pictures but it has been fun viewing for insects, rocks, postage stamps, fingerprints, leaves and flowers.

Tickety-boo for business (printing) and fun
I bought my basic Zorb for Christmas from another source and floor in love with it. I work in the printing industry and it is a famous tool to take to customers to reveiw printing types, defects and details that are unfavourable to see with a hand held loop. I have shown it to uncountable in the business and have contributed to at least 100 of these being sold. (no Kidding!) As a slighting tool, its great for kids, mine have looked at the whole shebang possible. I even bought one for my son's sciene teacher at State school. Works with Mac and PC with no issues. Highly support it!

Notice Mac users. Stop and read!
Carson Optical does not be supportive of Mac computers in any realistic way. They claim to support the Mac OS but that solely isn't true. Their products can be made to run in a more or less half-baked way on Macs but it isn't pretty. Their models MM-480 and MM-640 use a Sonix Quicktime component (SN9C201) which has big been known to crash iTunes 10 - Google something like "iTunes 10" and "Sonix" for numerous posts and an Apple specialized bulletin on the subject. And though iTunes 10 has been out for little short of a year as of this writing Sonix hasn't addressed the emotionally upset. Despite this Carson continues to claim that these products are appropriate for Macs. They even offer a Snow Leopard driver which is how I assertive that their stuff must be okay to run on my Macbook Pro. What a 'No to find that their Snow Leopard driver installs a component that's toxic to iTunes 10 and known to be so. How sundry Snow Leopard systems can there be out there that aren't match iTunes 10?Furthermore,...

Inordinate for low light, great focal length for DX, and autofocus intent also work with D40, D40x, D60, and D5000 cameras
This Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX lens produces hot pictures and great color and contrast. It is also faultless for portrait and other general purposes (semi-macro etc). This lens also produces tidy bokeh. The picture quality and bokeh quality are comparable with the other Nikon prime lenses (50mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4 AF-S etc) lens which are famed for being sharp. Overall, this is a very at lens. On a non full frame DSLR (such as D40, D40x, D60, D5000, D80, D90, D200, D300 etc), this 35mm focused length is equivalent to about 50mm which is considered a common lens (normal as to being close to a person eye viewing seek perspective). Many of us, including those who already own the 50mm prime, participate in been waiting for this lens (prime lens that has wider projection than the 50mm) for a long time, especially for non full give form DSLR owners that usually have fro 1.5x magnification due to the smaller sensor size. Those 50mm lens on a non wholly frame DSLR is equivalent to...

Unassuming chasten little jewel of a lens
Nikon has naturally nailed it with this lens. A modest sum gets you quite what you need in a lens, nothing you don't, and it works smashingly. It is relatively feature-rich at its price: cheap lenses, unvaried from Nikon, often lack important features - but not here. Uncharacteristic other recent DX bargains this lens has Nikon's M/A concentration setting, which allows automatic focus with minute manual over-ride. This is a simple and intuitive method of combining the opulence and accuracy of AF with sometimes-necessary manual lead, and Nikon has done users of this lens a superlative favor by including it, despite the low price. It also features, less importantly, a accepted metal mount and a gasket to keep dust ingress from occurring thoroughly the camera/lens interface. A couple of items do remain stay away from: there is no focus distance scale, and as a consequence there is no perception-of-field scale, an unfortunate omission that is just justified at the price point. This is a bargain lens, a no-brainer...

For $199 is it virtuous hype?
Being a self proclaimed prosumer I'm not undeniably a pro, but I am still demanding when it comes to camera hardware (and software for that meaning). I mention this because it puts this over again in the proper context. On to the lens...First off, when a $199 lens comes all from Nikon I have two thoughts, "Right on!" and "Seems bonny cheap for Nikon". I was skeptical but for $199 and all the great reviews why not slack it a shot? Well, I did.Amazon taunted me, B&H teased me, and my particular camera shops didn't exactly sooth my fear that it would be months beforehand I could get my hand on one. Putting a pre-order in with all the over mentioned establishments my local store came at the end of one's tether with first (and for the same 199 dollar price tag).I get it rest-home, take it out of the box and the first thing that comes to perception is how much heavier it is than some of the kit lenses I must picked up. Yes it's plastic, but the thing has a different level of eminence from the...

You get what you pay for . . .
Recently ended up with different thousand family 35 mm slides and promised my brothers I would look over the slides and create a digital collection for each one of them. Received the scanner and after a bit of reading, had the avalanche scanner up and working relatively quickly. Previously I scanned on an HP Scanjet 5470 and the treat was slow and not the best copy quality. I am finding that of the slides I possess scanned so far with the Wolverine scanner, they are all coming out on the cheerless side and require work to optimize contrast, etc. Various of the slides that are winter shots are washing out as if the pale source in the scanner is not consistent across the surface. No amount of processing with software has, so far, infatuated the scanned images to an acceptable image. If I had to do it over, I would seat in a better scanner.

Does it for me, incomparable if you can adjust bad photos yourself.
Victory I need to say the reason I bought this scanner was so that I can explore in depth film shot on an odd format 35mm narrow frame camera so I honest needed a scanner that could scan negatives that I could do my stick work on later if I needed to. This scanner does that with the heartless honesty that I needed so that I can fix my errors in appoint and also learn from them. If you took a crappy represent with your camera this thing will deliver a crappy scan. If your scan is dark or endurable blame your camera work not the scanner. I ran a roll of mostly overexposed photos finished with this scanner and the correctly exposed photos looked illustrious, the overexposed photos, not so much. A little post theurgical with Gimp (free photo processing software, Dialect right hands on) and I have a great set of pictures and know what I did impolitic. I had a local one hour place process and scan this verbatim at the same time roll for me, and all the photos they did looked great, thy admitted that they "enhanced" them. This scanner shows you what you in actuality shot so...

Permissible for the money
Received this today and within 20 min. was scanning slides. After scanning to SD behave 10 slides, took card to printer. The prints were completely good. Since I have 2000+ slides to glance at did not want to use the Epson flat scanner to do this--takes way too extended to scan slides. Some slides date retreat from to my Grandma taking pictures in 1948. If the slide is on the foggy side it will come out a little darker than origional but is flat okay.Highly recommend this for the amature myself who is not looking for perfection. I am happy with the results. At least you can now send digitized photos from the big past to your friends and relatives by e mail.

Old vs New – what’s the difference?

In my reading, although, I persevere in reading approximately photographers attaching older, directions lenses to their digital cameras and decision some other qualities from their digital-designed cousins.   The wastage of all instinctual functions didn’t plague me that much as I as usual hold back my digital camera in Instructions or Crack manner and I’ve some exposure with handbook converge systems.   I’ve been wondering if this effect be a way to stretch my “reach” without breaking the bank so recently I purchased a occupied Olympus Zuiko 300mm OM lens, one designed for the 35mm OM murkiness series Olympus is pre-eminent for.   What I was exceedingly interested in lore was whether the counterpart blue blood would be the unchanged as the newer, digital-designed lens.   Owning a 300mm or 90-250mm is mostly high at this place in my duty so rental is a virtue way to not at best get the images I hanker after but also to appraise the lens for gig and fit with my expectations.   With the adapter I purchased the lens fit on my E-3 valid peachy....
