1080 Projector?
I would put forward not to replace the lamp just yet as I don't know if it is worth the small change on a used projector which may have other issues.

I've not in the least seen a DLP or LCD projector that can re-set the lamp counter without powering it on.

Endorse impressions, very pleased
This was an upgrade for me from a 720p, DLP projector (Mitsubishi HD1000u). Initial impressions are damned positive, based on about 10 hours of viewing & tweaking. Dialect right quiet, and plenty bright running in low power technique. The high resolution (1920 X 1080) approaches that for a regular 2k digital cinema, so my 145" diagonal screen, viewed from in 15 feet distance, provides a very pleasing silver screen experience. That said, the increase in resolution from 720p is an incremental stage, so it is not the be all and end all of image quality in projectors. More specifically the outset material you feed it is what really brings out the status. Many HD feed materials (from cable or attendant) don't ever approach the inherent resolution of the projector, so at this point up only blu-ray source material will really surrender the utmost in high resolution detail (and not even all disks, depending on the inventive mastering, etc.). Black levels are similar to my untimely DLP projector, so if you are...

1080p Goodness for the budget-minded!
I pre-eminent wrote this review on another site, and now that I've had more on occasion with this projector I have added and changed a few things and am reposting the re-examination on Amazon. I think more people will look to Amazon when purchasing this projector, particularly since the other site is not stocking it anymore. If things go well this review helps those of you who are on the edge all over purchasing this projector. Pros: Good looking, gleam-white finish. Low-noise fan on normal-bulb wise. 4000 hours lamp life on econo is greater then most projectors! Belongings enough to use in bright mode to use with lights turned on in the chamber. In the dark, it looks simply amazing! 1080p glad looks very good. Blu-rays played from a PS3 (or other blu-ray gamester) look awesome. I watched Kung-Fu Panda and was "wowed" by what you can observation on a much larger screen. I just watched Transformers : Pay someone back in his of the Fallen on it last night and I was amazed at the details and I noticed things I didn't...

Calibration is tougher!!
I possess been playing with the HD20 for last couple of days. I am calm not sure what to say. Unlike any of my previous projectors(Optoma HD31 and HD70) it gives u too diverse options to calibrate. I guess that is a good factor. However,I am still struggling with this operation and seems like quite overwhelming to me. Good feeling is picture is much bigger and brighter than HD70. Wonderful wide is a nice option. However, in terms of perfect details I am still not sure what to say especially with the downloaded HD components. Apparently it needs lot more tweaking( and hard labour) to calibrate it properly. I was reading different forums and there I comprehend that it actually needs 100 odd hours for the bulb to subside down. So that might be the reason too. Hence, to summarize, in terms of dimension and brightness, the improvement is significant. But as of now sadly I cannot say that in terms of notion quality and details. I will keep u updated as I provision continuing the calibration process. Update:...

Big Bang for Scarcely Buck
I've at worst had my ViewSonic PJD5123 one day, which is a little premature for reviewing, but with not one review posted, I thought another would be profitable. I actually made my purchase on that review's approval, since I could find no others. Start, let me say that my purchase was largely price-driven. I figured I'd participate in to buy a used projector, but the low price Amazon charged was the hook that caused me to mouthful on this brand-new one. My second criterion was that it had to toil with a Mac; it does! I did have to purchase an extra wire for my Macbook Pro unibody ($29.99 from Apple). I could include gotten a third party cable for much less (and may however do that for a backup), but the reviews on them were not as favorable as those on the Apple one. So I took the overwhelm, even paying an extra $4 (Amazon Prime) to clothed it delivered in two days. It arrived on time and I found caboodle in the box as advertised. The written documentation is worthless,...

An niggardly solution
The ViewSonic PJD5123 Projector is an chattels and economical solution for movie viewing and PowerPoint presentations. Projecting from 25' it creates a brilliant 8' wide image. I connect it to a laptop with Bose Confrere 2 Series II computer speakers creating an exceptional audio video experience. I use a Logitech wireless mouse to handle presentations. You may need a case for the projector and possibly a longer video telegram than the 6' cable provided. I am completely satisfied with the grandeur and performance of the projector and would recommend it to anyone in the market.

Marvellous projector
After shopping yon and purchasing a few "cheap" projectors I realized that I needed to bight the bullet and buy something a bit more high-priced. I did a ton of research and for my price point of around $300 I establish this projector. I was a bit skeptical as I have had no luck with projectors recently and was needles about throwing down so much money. Have a zizz assured, this projector is worth it! I wanted a nice affordable silver screen projector for backyard movie nights with friends. Dispiriting to find one that provided a great picture along with being affordable is no steady task. But this model is fantastic. I can't get over how frangible the picture is. And we use nothing but a white sheet pinned between two hammok posts. Settle in a room with mid day sun the picture is still bright and unclouded. The fan is not too loud and the controls are very easy to work. My contrariwise concern is that finding the right connection for my macbook 5,1 unibody has been a hassle. We connected it to a tacky dvd player and it...

Marked Projector + Great Price = Great Replacement
My 50" Widescreen 1080i Cultivate Projection Television finally bit the dust. Since I recently purchased an LCD T.V. for another lodgings, it was not an option to purchase another one here. I did a lot of research into projectors and unequivocal to give this one a try. I found video's of this portion being played online as well as numerous reviews. The guerdon is what caught my eye initially. After doing the explore on some of the higher end models I could see that the replacement bulb on those models were bloody expensive. The great thing with this module is they include one extra bulb. Additional bulbs are low-cost compared to others. Also included are all the cables needed for hanger up including an HDMI one. I thought with the extra bulb and all the cables needed it was a Brobdingnagian overall value. I had medium expectations on the quality as I was unsure on what to honestly expect. Out of the box I plugged in a standard DVD player and projected onto a cadaverous wall. The picture was...

Remarkable Deal..Early Shipping..High Resolution
Buying this projector was one of the first-rate deals I have ever gotten. High boldness even in a decent amount of light. 2000 lumens is the correctness and keep in mind that is the same as a professional great in extent quality projector. You can hook up cable television, rca component, and hdmi all at the in any case time. This is just like having an extraordinarily light weight and mini big screen tv. I didnt wish this projector to be so advanced. Read every input virtuous fine and even has a fast enough input scamper to play all your video games. For this expenditure you are buying a projector worth twice the amount. Also valid as a plus I received it one day in advance of the earliest estimated utterance date. Another great thing is that it comes with every guy you need to go ahead and hook up all your electronics.

Elevated product for the price
I press used this item like 3 days and I bought it as a replacement for my old epson and as a add to to my benq... I have probed it in different conditions and I can label it as follows... At night lights on or off it simply works immense in power point presentations and computer general use... the exact same for movies...When connected to the ps3 or my 360 images are not as wares as in a lcd tv, but it was possible to play and that is normal if you consider that this projector is 800x600 and it is genuinely cheap... When connected to my old xbox, my ps2 or the wii it works scrupulously as a tv, same quality... Anyway I would not interesting this unit to play new video games... In day undemanding conditions it continues working perfectly well... you can see the images understandably even in an image 60" wide... terrific accomplishment for such a cheap projector... I highly recommend it... If I correlate this projector to my other two ones (an expensive epson and for a song benq) I...

The Master PROJECTOR you can find at this price
Pros: Worn mostly for presentations and occasionally to display videos, amazingly distinct in a well illuminated room, minimal difference between ECO and general mode so you can go ECO mode in any condition, cool feature to accustom oneself to light output to compensate wall paint color (so you can change any wall into a real screen), 6000 hours lamp in ECO, low ruckus, very good scaling of non native resolutions tried 1280 X 800, 1366 X 768 and 1650 X 1080, I fed a 720p HD OTA TV signal of a soccer scheme and the picture was excellent, actually amazing for a projector in this payment range, brilliant colors, lamp replacement round 120 USD, small footprint for a 2700 lumen machine, very good option for a data projector at this cost. Actually this is the second Acer projector I bought for my bring, very satisfied with the performance. Cons: * No audio. * No buttons, the distant control slides in the projector housing to be used as the button spot, so if you lose the remote you will...

Wondrous
I'm unqualifiedly happy with this projector so far. I set up a diy screen in my backyard, and experience had a couple pretty successful movie party's. Moment the suns down, I can get a really good picture at during the course of 100 inches diagonal playing a DVD off my laptop. Later in the year, when the suns dropping a not much earlier, I'm looking forward to Monday night football in the backyard on my nine by five camouflage. The only slight negatives are the connectivity (vga or s video no more than),and the amount of heat the projector produces. But that's only a culmination in a small room. Overall, great product for the riches. Comparable to projectors twice the price.

Does a honestly excellent job for the price!
I bought this projector 3 weeks ago from Amazon. Presentation was prompt and on time. The projector came in the usual Optoma box but without a implement case. Of course I knew that, but one would secure been nice anyway. I had already printed out the vade-mecum (at work of course) from the Optoma website. Set up was undemanding enough but a little time consuming as the settings where completely off. I believe everyone using this projector primarily for domestic theater will and should set the bulb to standard. The kicker lumen will come in handy however when using the 3D glasses to position 3D content. Once calibrated, picture quality was unusually impressive for a 720p projector. Blacks were black sufficient, color and shadow, rich and detailed. The projector does a goodness job (imo) of scaling 1080p content. I have two Blu-ray players and the projector showed Blu-ray contented a lot better with my Philips player so like the total else the source is important. Overall I'm very thrilled with my purchase. Couldn't...

Brobdingnagian box for the price
Quite nice projector, good colors, brightness and black levels. This is not customary to compete with a $2k projector, but for its class, it does a really evocative job. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because out of the box, the settings make good the image look quite poor, complete diminution of detail in faces, skin tones are definitely off. After some rapid calibraiton, Specifically: - I turned down the bulb to yardstick - turned "Brilliant Color" way down - reduced the set off to about 42-45. - I also turned down the brightness to 43, but after doing a THX optimizer, brought the brightness assist up to the standard 50. AFTER CALIBRATION, I am VERY walking on air with the colors, the black levels are good (not important, but pretty darn good) and the shadow detail is much crap-shooter than what I have seen in the past. I would advocate this projector to anyone looking for a ht projector in this price compass. (Also, as others have...

Colossal entry level projector......
....but ended up thriving with the HD20. This is my first projector and I use it solely for watching movies; blu-ray, DVD, and streaming HD from VUDU\Netflix. I had nothing to refer it to except for my brothers which was a Optoma 1080p projector with a quit of 15-18 feet. I was very impressed out of the box. Blu-ray looks clever @ 11' throw\85" diag. picture. Works relatively well in ambient light, but really comes alert to in lights off. HD stuff looks really good from viewing aloofness of 12'. There is some rainbow effect, but not usually at all and usually during credits. Certainly not a deal breaker for me. We awake to it directly off our light gray painted wall and it looks same good. Older DVD's are blurry, but that is just the colour of the lower res DVDs. The texture of the wall and no gain gray warpaint will require a screen eventually. The controls are fairly basic and simple to use. There are some advanced calibration settings that I...
