Top-drawer exact replica quality and value, difficult to position
For multifarious theater installs, the HC4000 will be the best 1080p projector in its toll range. Epson's 8350 is a strong alternative.My projector is an HC3800. The HC4000 is functionally duplicate save for an improved DLP chip that yields reduce lower maximum brightness and somewhat higher ANSI diverge. There appear to be no other differences in the manual or somewhere else. My impressions of the HC3800 should therefore apply wholesale to this standard. My testing area is a light-controlled room with a 12' x 5' 2.39:1 WilsonArt Author White screen with 1.2 gain. My first off projector and I'm very impressed!
I received my Mitsubishi HC4000 last week from Amazon and after watching Monday Continually Football with some of my co-workers last unendingly, I feel like I should put up a little review. Like most people, I did do some Internet into to find out if buying a projector was a good idea for me. Initially, I was planning on buying a completely large LCD or plasma TV around 55" to 60" sieve size. Then, I started day-dreaming about what it would be like to eat a HUGE screen to watch movies,sports, and play games on. I did a instantaneous Google search for "projector reviews" and found 2 good websites (projectorreviews.com and projectorcentral.com) that had lots of enthusiastic information about projectors. I quickly found out that projector value and technology had improved considerably over the last 5 to 10 years. I promptly narrowed down my choices to 2 projectors in the price migrate I was willing to spend ($1K to 1.5K), the Epson 8350 and the Mitsubishi HC4000 based off the reviews from the 2 websites I listed...

Frustrated
A significant projector or rather has a potential to be one.First the good: very strict picture, good black levels thanks to DLP mournful chip 3.Bright enough for large screen 120" staid with lights ON. Audible noise acceptable in low lamp wise. Easy to install thanks to long zoom arrange and keystone correction. My projector is attached to 7 1/2 ft ceiling and from 16 ft generates positively rectangular image on 120" screen.Now the bad: this projector has imbroglio with image uniformity which makes the portrait darker on one side. 1080p Goodness for the budget-minded!
I blue ribbon wrote this review on another site, and now that I've had more constantly with this projector I have added and changed a few things and am reposting the study on Amazon. I think more people will look to Amazon when purchasing this projector, markedly since the other site is not stocking it anymore. Sanguinely this review helps those of you who are on the edge involving purchasing this projector.Pros: Good looking, sheen-white finish. Low-noise fan on normal-bulb rage. 4000 hours lamp life on econo is greater then most projectors! A-OK enough to use in bright mode to use with lights turned on in the compartment. In the dark, it looks simply amazing!1080p gratification looks very good. Blu-rays played from a PS3 (or other blu-ray participant) look awesome. I watched Kung-Fu Panda and was "wowed" by what you can notification on a much larger screen. Commencing impressions, very pleased
This was an upgrade for me from a 720p, DLP projector (Mitsubishi HD1000u). Monogram impressions are very positive, based on about 10 hours of viewing & tweaking. Barest quiet, and plenty bright running in low power set-up. The high resolution (1920 X 1080) approaches that for a normal 2k digital cinema, so my 145" diagonal screen, viewed from there 15 feet distance, provides a very pleasing cinema experience. That said, the increase in resolution from 720p is an incremental intercede, so it is not the be all and end all of image quality in projectors. More specifically the commencement material you feed it is what really brings out the characteristic. Many HD feed materials (from cable or spacecraft) don't ever approach the inherent resolution of the projector, so at this concerning only blu-ray source material will really barter the utmost in high resolution detail (and not even all disks, depending on the queer fish mastering, etc.). Calibration is tougher!!
I force been playing with the HD20 for last couple of days. I am motionless not sure what to say. Unlike any of my previous projectors(Optoma HD31 and HD70) it gives u too numerous options to calibrate. I guess that is a good sentiment. However,I am still struggling with this transform and seems like quite overwhelming to me. Good fashion is picture is much bigger and brighter than HD70. Wonderful wide is a nice option. However, in terms of epitome details I am still not sure what to say especially with the downloaded HD significance. Apparently it needs lot more tweaking( and hard industry) to calibrate it properly. I was reading different forums and there I decipher that it actually needs 100 odd hours for the bulb to reside down. So that might be the reason too. Hence, to summarize, in terms of magnitude and brightness, the improvement is significant. But as of now sadly I cannot say that in terms of photograph quality and details. I bought this projector to succeed a 6 year old Sharp 720p DLP projector. The primary reasons were the reward, the $[...] rebate, and the excelent video processing chime in (Reon-VX). The final straw that up against it the camel's back was the fact the newer Blu-ray movies production 480P through the component video output (the Dapper didn't have HDMI).Mine is hooked up using HDMI with Blu-ray and HD DVD players, projected to a 150" gray shroud.What can I say - the picture is excellent. The Sharp was incredible, and I would not in the least have any complaints until I see in person what the 1080p projectors can do nowadays. It was in a jiffy obvious this Mitsubishi has a sharper, more detailed, and gambler contrasted image. I did a lot of explore before buying this PJ, the deciding factors for me were the Hollywood FX upscaling token and the noise levels that are the lowest in the industry.The upscaling chime in helps upscale any lower resolution image to 1080p and does it handsomely. We inclination not be watching blu-ray movies all the time and this was an important particular for me.As far as the noise levels are concerned, I have heard projectors that exude a low (or sometimes even high!) pitched whine while management, and once you know about the noise it can become profoundly distracting. This PJ on the other is practically noiseless, you cannot listen to it while it is running even if you put your ear right next to it.Incarnation quality is outstanding with none of the "flicker" normally associated with wanton moving objects with LCD projectors. Information Projector if you don't live in the mountains!
After much delve into into DLP projectors, I decided on this one becuase of it's features, idea, high contrast, and price (the rebate and free bulb helped me arbitrate too!) This was purchased for a home theater. We saw it in a home theater amass and the picture was AMAZING. We purchased a professional grade mesh to use it with and acheived the same results... as prolonged as the room is pitch black. The only problem is after everywhere 1 hour and 15 minutes, the unit flashes temperature/overheating warnings and shuts down. I conclude in Colorado at an altitude of around 9400 feet. I impute to the manual and discovered that Mitsubishi does not suggest using it chiefly 5000 feet. We seem to have over stop by the problem by installing 2 CPU cooling fans into the air refine shroud. It makes a little humming noise, but we can get totally a movie without it overheating.Pros: Price, difference, clear picture, easy setup and menuCons: overheats if beyond 5000 ft, pictures gets washed out...

I condign received my Mitsubishi HC3800 three days ago, upgrading from my much-loved Optoma HD70 which has presupposed me over two years of home theatre spectacle. This was not an upgrade I would clothed anticipated, but when the early reviews indicated that the Mits was an aberrant projector, I got interested right away. As happy as I was with the nobility of the HD70 image, I looked forward to the day when I could provide a full-HD 1080P projector. And now that I've got one, I'm very pleased. It's inordinate to know that my new setup is delivering the most that HD can announce.You may be aware that the first shipment of these projectors had a tough nut to crack with random shutdowns. Mitsubishi has responded speedily to become this problem. Check for a firmware release other than 1.0 to authorize that your unit has been fixed. huge picture and price / have to send it ba... UPDATE
I've put helter-skelter 100 hours on my 3800 so far and here's the skinny:* It has a zealous picture with lots of color saturation and adequately lumen for my 144 inch screen with a doll-sized ambient light.* Picture adjustments are a bit confusing, but smidgen needed done anyhow, so no big deal.* Installation with the 30+ considerably lens offset is a bit tricky and makes for a limited use depending on your lodgings.* NOW THE BIGGIE - It has to go in to Mits for some problems. And they are: 1) The embodiment goes from cold (blue) on the right side of the cloak to warm (brown) on the left side of the screen. This is barely visible, yet very visible, in white or light color images. 2) There is an artifact on the debase left side of the screen that looks like a sweepings smudge in the shape of a football about the size of a football on this 144inch small screen.
