1080p Goodness for the budget-minded!
I basic wrote this review on another site, and now that I've had more formerly with this projector I have added and changed a few things and am reposting the analysis on Amazon. I think more people will look to Amazon when purchasing this projector, remarkably since the other site is not stocking it anymore. With any luck this review helps those of you who are on the edge with purchasing this projector.Pros: Good looking, brightness-white finish. Low-noise fan on normal-bulb fashion. 4000 hours lamp life on econo is greater then most projectors! Profitable enough to use in bright mode to use with lights turned on in the elbow-room. In the dark, it looks simply amazing!1080p purport looks very good. Blu-rays played from a PS3 (or other blu-ray punter) look awesome. I watched Kung-Fu Panda and was "wowed" by what you can consciousness on a much larger screen. I just watched Transformers : Their comeuppance of the Fallen on it last night and I was amazed at the details and I noticed things I didn't exact...

Beginning impressions, very pleased
This was an upgrade for me from a 720p, DLP projector (Mitsubishi HD1000u). Initial impressions are uncommonly positive, based on about 10 hours of viewing & tweaking. Extremely quiet, and plenty bright running in low power style. The high resolution (1920 X 1080) approaches that for a ordinary 2k digital cinema, so my 145" diagonal screen, viewed from roughly 15 feet distance, provides a very pleasing moving picture experience. That said, the increase in resolution from 720p is an incremental spoor, so it is not the be all and end all of image quality in projectors. More specifically the inception material you feed it is what really brings out the attribute. Many HD feed materials (from cable or aide) don't ever approach the inherent resolution of the projector, so at this applicable only blu-ray source material will really disseminate the utmost in high resolution detail (and not even all disks, depending on the fresh mastering, etc.). Black levels are similar to my sometime DLP projector, so if you are...

Calibration is tougher!!
I give birth to been playing with the HD20 for last couple of days. I am suppress not sure what to say. Unlike any of my previous projectors(Optoma HD31 and HD70) it gives u too assorted options to calibrate. I guess that is a good feeling. However,I am still struggling with this answer and seems like quite overwhelming to me. Good fixation is picture is much bigger and brighter than HD70. Wonderful wide is a nice option. However, in terms of draw details I am still not sure what to say especially with the downloaded HD load. Apparently it needs lot more tweaking( and hard calling) to calibrate it properly. I was reading different forums and there I assume from that it actually needs 100 odd hours for the bulb to decline down. So that might be the reason too. Hence, to summarize, in terms of expanse and brightness, the improvement is significant. But as of now sadly I cannot say that in terms of drawing quality and details. I will keep u updated as I discourage a keep continuing the calibration process.Update:...

Big Bang for Scant Buck
I've solely had my ViewSonic PJD5123 one day, which is a little premature for reviewing, but with at most one review posted, I thought another would be utilitarian. I actually made my purchase on that review's say-so, since I could find no others.First, let me say that my attain was largely price-driven. I figured I'd have to buy a second-hand projector, but the low price Amazon charged was the hook that caused me to bit on this brand-new one. My second criterion was that it had to effort with a Mac; it does! I did have to purchase an extra cablegram for my Macbook Pro unibody ($29.99 from Apple). I could clothed gotten a third party cable for much less (and may in addition do that for a backup), but the reviews on them were not as favorable as those on the Apple one.So I took the wager, even paying an extra $4 (Amazon Prime) to prepare it delivered in two days. It arrived on time and I found the aggregate in the box as advertised. The written documentation is worthless, but...

An economizing solution
The ViewSonic PJD5123 Projector is an functioning and economical solution for movie viewing and PowerPoint presentations. Projecting from 25' it creates a incandescent 8' wide image. I connect it to a laptop with Bose Portugal duenna 2 Series II computer speakers creating an exceptional audio video affair. I use a Logitech wireless mouse to control presentations. You may essential a case for the projector and possibly a longer video cable than the 6' telegraph provided. I am completely satisfied with the quality and act of the projector and would recommend it to anyone in the market.

Astonishing projector
After shopping all about and purchasing a few "cheap" projectors I realized that I needed to bight the bullet and buy something a bit more overpriced. I did a ton of research and for my price point of around $300 I create this projector. I was a bit skeptical as I have had no luck with projectors recently and was disturbed about throwing down so much money. Keep on being assured, this projector is worth it! I wanted a nice affordable cinema projector for backyard movie nights with friends. Annoying to find one that provided a great picture along with being affordable is no lenient task. But this model is fantastic. I can't get over how friable the picture is. And we use nothing but a white sheet pinned between two hammok posts. Identical in a room with mid day sun the picture is still bright and purify. The fan is not too loud and the controls are very easy to work. My lone concern is that finding the right connection for my macbook 5,1 unibody has been a hassle. We connected it to a tuppenny dvd player and it...

Sorry horizontal paning
After two months of use, I have compassion for incline I did not make a good choice. Horizontal movements are not slick at all. It hurts the eyes, especially when watching sports programs and liveliness movies. After buying, I found that it is a 24 frames per alternate projector instead of a 60fps one. Eco mode must be set every time you spin the projector on. The good things of the Pro 8200 you read from the fabricator are true and plenty to consider, but the extremely annoying level juddering or shaking effect must also be considered.

Important Buy!
We've been continual this projector for a week now. For the price - couldn't be happier! This is our 3rd accessible theater projector. 1st was an Infocus IN72 (480), second was the Mits HC1500 (720). After 4 years the 1500 was inception to have issues, plus was due for its 3rd bulb replacement, so decisive to upgrade to 1080. Researched the 8200 at Projectorcentral.com and Projectorreviews.com ... Both sites gave it a favourable review and said that it was a good buy. Projectorreviews gave it a "Hot Fallout" rating. This thing is a light cannon. Wonderful bright. Running it in Eco mode is fine even in a lodgings that has ambient light. Blu Ray and HD-DVD performance is stunning. Awsome twin clairity and sharpness. Rich, bright colors, produce contrast and shadows. Coupled with the bright icon the picture is very, very vibrant. My standard DVD trouper is an Oppo-981HD... Had to do some tweaking to get an OK image for upscaling to 1080... But, once there, all's worthy.Cons - The...

Does a definitely excellent job for the price!
I bought this projector 3 weeks ago from Amazon. Execution was prompt and on time. The projector came in the usual Optoma box but without a win case. Of course I knew that, but one would suffer with been nice anyway. I had already printed out the guide (at work of course) from the Optoma website.Set up was calm enough but a little time consuming as the settings where entirely off. I believe everyone using this projector primarily for domestic theater will and should set the bulb to standard. The auxiliary lumen will come in handy however when using the 3D glasses to rate 3D content.Once calibrated, picture quality was damned impressive for a 720p projector. Blacks were black satisfactorily, color and shadow, rich and detailed. The projector does a extensive job (imo) of scaling 1080p content. I have two Blu-ray players and the projector showed Blu-ray import a lot better with my Philips player so like entire lot else the source is important.Overall I'm very elated with my purchase. Couldn't...

Exalted box for the price
Awfully nice projector, good colors, brightness and black levels. This is not successful to compete with a $2k projector, but for its class, it does a really awesome job.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because out of the box, the settings enact the image look quite poor, complete squandering of detail in faces, skin tones are definitely off. After some sharp calibraiton, Specifically:- I turned down the bulb to ideal- turned "Brilliant Color" way down- reduced the comparison to about 42-45.- I also turned down the brightness to 43, but after doing a THX optimizer, brought the brightness in back of surreptitiously up to the standard 50.AFTER CALIBRATION, I am VERY on cloud nine with the colors, the black levels are good (not excellent, but pretty darn good) and the shadow detail is much think twice than what I have seen in the past.I would advise this projector to anyone looking for a ht projector in this price rank.(Also, as others have reported, the...

Serious entry level projector......
....but ended up present with the HD20.This is my first projector and I use it solely for watching movies; blu-ray, DVD, and streaming HD from VUDU\Netflix. I had nothing to compete with it to except for my brothers which was a Optoma 1080p projector with a dispose of of 15-18 feet.I was very impressed out of the box. Blu-ray looks keen @ 11' throw\85" diag. picture. Works moderately well in ambient light, but really comes among the living in lights off. HD stuff looks really good from viewing disassociate of 12'.There is some rainbow effect, but not many times at all and usually during credits. Certainly not a deal breaker for me. We of it directly off our light gray painted wall and it looks particular good. Older DVD's are blurry, but that is just the quality of the lower res DVDs. The texture of the wall and no gain gray colour will require a screen eventually. The controls are lovely basic and simple to use. There are some advanced calibration settings that I didn't pretty...

Excess product for the price
I maintain used this item like 3 days and I bought it as a replacement for my old epson and as a completion to my benq... I have probed it in different conditions and I can style it as follows...At night lights on or off it simply works capacious in power point presentations and computer general use... the anyhow for movies...When connected to the ps3 or my 360 images are not as creditable as in a lcd tv, but it was possible to play and that is normal if you consider that this projector is 800x600 and it is Non-Standard real cheap... When connected to my old xbox, my ps2 or the wii it works unequivocally as a tv, same quality... Anyway I would not praise this unit to play new video games...In day sprightly conditions it continues working perfectly well... you can see the images quit even in an image 60" wide... terrific acting for such a cheap projector... I highly recommend it...If I be a match for this projector to my other two ones (an expensive epson and twopenny benq) I only...

The Wealthiest PROJECTOR you can find at this price
Pros: In use accustomed to mostly for presentations and occasionally to display videos, amazingly discernible in a well illuminated room, minimal difference between ECO and standard mode so you can go ECO mode in any condition, cool feature to adapt to light output to compensate wall paint color (so you can change any wall into a real screen), 6000 hours lamp in ECO, low babel, very good scaling of non native resolutions tried 1280 X 800, 1366 X 768 and 1650 X 1080, I fed a 720p HD OTA TV signal of a soccer stratagem and the picture was excellent, actually amazing for a projector in this figure range, brilliant colors, lamp replacement round 120 USD, small footprint for a 2700 lumen strategy, very good option for a data projector at this cost. Actually this is the second Acer projector I bought for my corps, very satisfied with the performance.Cons: * No audio.* No buttons, the recondite control slides in the projector housing to be used as the button site, so if you lose the remote you will...

Alarming
I'm undeniably happy with this projector so far. I set up a diy screen in my backyard, and prepare had a couple pretty successful movie party's. Periodically the suns down, I can get a really good picture at as a remainder 100 inches diagonal playing a DVD off my laptop. Later in the year, when the suns dropping a thimbleful earlier, I'm looking forward to Monday night football in the backyard on my nine by five shroud. The only slight negatives are the connectivity (vga or s video not),and the amount of heat the projector produces. But that's only a outflow in a small room. Overall, great product for the fat. Comparable to projectors twice the price.
