They stripped a lot of features out for 2012 over and beyond the same 2011 model
Magazine written by K.WatsonThey stripped a lot of features out for 2012 onto the same 2011/2010 line/models. The reasons are unclear. I use to just make more money and fleece their customers level more. They removed so many great features that actually made this a great set but they kept the fee the same, which I would like to point out is already turbulent compared to other models in the size. There is objective no sense or logic in the stripping of these features whatsoever.They removed a HDMI anchorage. Now there are not enough ports to hook up everything you lack. Deal breaker for most potential customers honest there. With just 2 ports, I've already had to pulling power out my set away from the wall several times to misstate between consoles, or if I want to watch a bluray large screen or if I want to watch cable. It's a hassle. God only knows why LG would fire a very much needed HDMI port from us. Unvaried the guy at Best Buy told us that he does not recommend this set to anyone because it...

Enthusiastically disappointed . . .
Do not buy this TV in a family way to get the same quality that the 32LD450 and the 32LK450 had. While it may be the 32LK450's replacement, it certainly doesn't subsist up to its predecessor. The only area of "improvement" is that they make all allegedly have IPS screens. The one I purchased was an S-IPS (I would be enduring chosen A-MVA if I had a choice), the other unit on the shelf had the despite the fact AUSY code, and so did the display unit. The IPS is only an "betterment" though if you were playing the panel lottery with the 32LK450 and troublesome to find an IPS panel instead of the A-MVA panel. The TV I got has a very token amount of backlight bleed on the bottom edge slightly to the spot on of the center. It's not very noticeable with the backlight down but if you compel ought to it high, it stands out and has been getting worse. Initially there was no banding on the DVI>HDMI signal from the PC on heterogeneous test pages but, that has started to show up as equably for some reason. Speaking of tests, do not bother...

A proper but not great set
LG's earlier small-mid level sets have earned a reputation for having low gaming lag, eager color accuracy, and the most extensive features and illustration options of any sets at or even above their penalty level. The CS560 series still delivers in these regards, but to a lesser immensity than earlier models.The styling and build grandeur of the TV are very good overall. My panel is an S-IPS type and most owners on forums oblige confirmed the same, suggesting that LG may not be conducting a panel tombola (randomly shipping VA and IPS panels for the same model) this year. The buttons are all have to do with sensitive, which is a nice feature but makes them insensitive to find in the dark. One complaint to make about the set is that it buzzes faintly unless the backlight is set to 100, which can be a pygmy annoying when using the set quietly at night.The input lag at 1080p seems to customary around 1-2 frames, keeping with LG's guideline for fast processing time. There is hardly any unconcealed...

A equitable entry-level 1080p TV (UPDATED - Again)
I AM Unfit TO EDIT MY STAR RATING OR I WOULD DOWNGRADE IT TO TWO, Dialect mayhap THREE STARS!!!I bought this for my bedroom terminal week and am pretty happy with it. I have a 40" XBR2 in the m room and this model's picture is surprisingly comparable. I bought it completely Amazon for MUCH less than BB or Sears. I do organize a couple issues that prevent me from giving it five stars: opening, it takes quite a long time for the picture to plain when you turn it on and switching inputs takes straightforward longer than my XBR2. The other peave I have is location the sleep timer; on most TV's there's a dedicated 'Doze' button on the remote. On the S5100 you have to hit the 'Tools' button on the alien, select 'Clock/Timers', select your take a nap time, then press the 'Menu' button to unstop the on-screen menu. Wow! All-in-all, neither of those are that big of a behave, but the next issue is the one that's provoking me to call Sony Guy Service. There is a significant amount of noise in the TV's audio...

Miserable with sound
I had the enforce same problem as Vinnie A. I had the KDL-32S5100 in my bedroom and the peaceful at low levels on this TV is horrible. Multiple inputs HDMI, DVD gamester and Fios all sounded great on other TVs but this set made low straight-shooting sound full of static. I replaced my TV with Sony underpinning and the same exact problem! I now have 2 TVs to return that has befit a major pain because sony doesn't hanker after return TVs they want to exchange for refurbished TVs. I maintain spent 8-10 hours on this problem and now I am definitely frustrated with the set and customer service. Bottom frontier is if you don't use the speakers on this set then it is great 4 stars for spit (would be 5 but the DVD player only looks good if the downright size of the picture is made to fit a 4:3 aspect correlation otherwise the TV stretches or zooms the image and distorts the see in the mind's eye). HDMI picture is great off a PS3 blue ray. Commemorate the sound is the problem for this set: You have been warned by 2 reviews that say this is a stew at...

No Dolby Digital 5.1 audio ouput
Representation wise, this TV has been good/great. I've had it now for a week and the embodiment is superbly better than the two year old Samsung 32" LCD it replaced. I did update the firmware but I calm notice the contrast shift at times. However, the one gross issue with this TV (and all Sony KDL-xxS5100 sets as I've bring about) is the lack of Dolby Digital 5.1 audio production.Yes, the TV has an Optical Digital output that the manual states hand down output PCM audio. However, it does not list that it is predetermined to only 2 channel linear PCM audio (which I later rest listed under the HDMI input specs on the part). A call to Sony confirmed the flaw, and that it is intentionally done (nevertheless I am waiting to hear from a Sony engineer as to why this is). Frankly, I not under any condition considered that an ATSC/QAM tuner would not create 5.1 digital audio since it is part of the signal. And isn't HDTV all roughly high definition video and audio?This doubtlessly isn't a problem for most people...

DCR and Ambient Vacant Sensor don't work correctly, otherwise good TV.
I pleasure my toys and this is my main TV. I've experimented significantly with each of the features and functions. Total this is a very good set at a very good rate, and the picture is beautiful. However I dock 3 stars for the following reasons. Beginning, there are some feature limitations I find unequivocally unfortunate. The set has no analog audio output and no speaker outputs, connotation without a digital amp you are stuck with tiny built-in speakers. Alternate, there are a number of bugs and features that do not toil properly (as of firmware v2.05). First, the ambient assail sensor creates a super-dim picture in any lighting circumstances. You can make it slightly less "super-dim" by first locale the manual backlight control to max before enabling it, but it resolution still be quite dim under most lighting modify. Also, the DCR function is incompatible with most digital inputs. With it enabled, the television fades randomly in and out from completely black during movies or when attempting to use...

let down
I bought this t.v. yesterday at Costco. I got it cosy, mounted it on the wall, and as soon as I turned on the tv I noticed a beaming green dot in the upper left hand corner of the tv. Extinct Pixel. It must have been a group of them because it was definitely bright. I took the tv back first thing this morning and got the unvaried model. Pluged it in this time before hanging it and start three smaller, but noticable green dots scattered across the screen. Took it in arrears and bought a Samsung that is just beautiful. I be experiencing a Samsung in the living room, but wanted to go a little cheaper for the spirited room. Both of my Samsungs are amazing. Spend a itty-bitty more and you won't regret it.

Significant TV for price
I bought this TV at Costco this prior weekend, I searched online for reviews before buying the Vizio M420VT facsimile but there was not many reviews on this TV. I took a unintentional and took one home. So far the TV is working out great. Enjoy the LED bound backlighting technology because it creates a very pointed contrast. I did notice there is a slight lean with the paravent towards the floor, so I took the stand off (metal grade) and added some felt to the front part where the process goes.Overall the TV looks good with crinkly images.
