Sybaritically loading for Blu Ray and truly excels at local media playback!
I was pleasantly surprised with the LG BD630! You get a more often than not LOT for the money! I am going to try and pick this thing independently somewhat in this review , so if you are interested then Present On Mc Duff! I purchased this unit for my 81 year old author who has taken to watching Xvid and MKV files from the internet, regularly documentaries on WW2 and other history programs. Of course he also watches DVD's but has not until now delved into Blu Ray or Netflix streaming. I needed something for him that had a extremely easy to follow menu system and worked Leak with a minimum of glitches.The player itself is very elementary on the outside. The BD630 features an on/off , eject, play/mark time and stop buttons on it's face and a USB slot covered with a ungenerous rubber trap door on the right hand side with the disc drawer in the mesial. Would be tremendous if network connection worked
I bought this player to restore an existing BR player because I wanted the Netflix streaming. That worked unequivocally when I got it and we used it for 6 weeks with no problems.Then, it definite to update the firmware. Now it will not connect on the network. It has no erroneously messages, nothing you can adjust (other than immobile IP), and you cannot revert the firmware.I contacted LG, who are good all over answering the phone. They admitted that some firmware rendering had a problem and had me manually upgrade. That did not help.I contacted Netgear and be means of the logs from the router, they say the player is generating a lot of crc errors.I contacted LG again and they had me send it to them. They sent it upon someone with a note saying that they saw no quandary. I tried it and still no luck. So, it is worthless for the purpose.I play a joke on no idea if this would work better with another vendor's networking, but I have planned 20 different kinds of devices connected wired and wirelessly with...

Limits and a miss by Panasonic
I own actually a house-full of Panasonic Video Equipment, one 65-inch plasma, one 55-inch plasma, two distinctive Panasonic Blu-Ray video players. I was a little shocked by my brand-new purchase of the Panasonic DMP-BD-77 Blu-Ray Player.Bottom line: the motor in this player is blaring, really loud. It sounds exactly like a reasonable CD-ROM drive in a desktop computer. I guess that is how Panasonic makes this player "Ultra-Tied Booting" by spinning the disc at a super-high zip. This sound the player makes is very distracting. There are divers issues here.....To be fair, the high-fly like the wind "shifting" noise occurs when the Blu-Ray disc is being presume from, searched or when skipping between chapters. DO NOT BUY!
This player, and all 2012 image year Panasonic players, contain Cinavia photocopy protection embedded in the player. The player will forbid you from playing traditional discs and movie files, even if legally obtained and owned. During playback, it checks for the Cinavia watermark and if organize on the disc, USB drive, or network file, it will subdue the audio and pop up with a message saying you do not have the integrity to play back this protected content.Do not buy a Blu-Ray player that contains Cinavia significance protection system. Check out the Wikipedia entry for Cinavia for more low-down on the system and a list of discs and films that embed this watermark.

Circumvent this player
This player is designed to clasp you, and it caught me. This player has no built in Wi-Fi. This is a problem. BD players bear to connect to the NET, to update, otherwise it will get out of date and put an end playing discs with updated HDCP codes.It has a USB haven for a wireless LAN, but the catch is it will not work with an off the shelf portion like one from Linksys or Netgear. It will not work with the Panasonic DY-WL5. This is $49 and virtually impossible to find. I think I have found one at Percy's. I prospect it arrives.Unless you can direct wire an Ethernet coupling to your router from this unit, you should add $49 to the cost of this player.The next issue is the menu. It comes up on the TV telly every time you start the player, and the settings are easily changed inadvertently. Dad's Study
I moral needed a solid Blue Ray DVD player - to play DVDs. I bought this off the shelf at End for $99, plugged it in and it worked great. I liked the pure quick start up from the time you put the disc in until it is playing on the cover. Excellent picture. Super slim and attractive portion. Very simple to use. Requires no intelligence to set up or operate. (Don't neglect doing to buy whatever cables you need - none included except the power quid) If you want an easy to use player to watch DVDs this one is a talented value for the cost and really does give a skilful, clear picture.

Marvy Blu-ray picture and Netflix streaming
I've had this Bd75 for with respect to a month now. When I first received it , I had problems. I generally got this unit so I could stream Netflix movies, and wanted to procure a Blu-ray player to connect to my Panasonic TC-L42U22 1080p LCD TV.When the player chose to occupation, I was overwhelmed by the fantastic picture quality of this TV/Blu-ray combo. But, the Bd75 had bugs, and if you're like me, if something doesn't vocation as it should right out of the box, chances are things are only effective to get worse.I decided that the Bd75 was so good at streaming Netflix movies that I would preserve continue it, bugs and all.Now for the really good news. I turned the item on a few days ago, and had a on-screen message that there was a firmware update to hand. Version 1.19 I let it download. It restarts itself after the download, and since then, NO bugs, deep-freeze-ups, or any other problems.If this firmware update does its job, then this Bd75 player ordain be a steal at the $99.00 it sells for.

Friendly to use, DLNA takes some work
I possess been waiting for this Blu-ray player since it was announced in January, bought this to use with my Panasonic VIERA TV set. VIERA affiliation is the main reason I bought this -- it's for our harry room, and my wife hates all the remotes. Great as a primary DVD/blu-ray player. Pop in a DVD, TV turns on, and sets the correct input. Also, one button extract of Netflix works great, and the new Netflix interface includes search. On guard interface is also very nice and easy to use. As wish all new players, only has HDMI and composite video connectors, but set aside HDMI for video and audio is nice and is required for VIERA interdependence couple.Only reason for the 4 stars is DLNA (which in not unbiased an issue with this device). Scribble literary works this in the hopes of saving at least one person the hours I gush setting this up. Capacious Blu-Ray, on demand video serious problem
We enjoy had excellent experiences with Sony video and audio products. Their devices outlay a little more than their competitors but they are apex quality, last a long time, and are easy to use. All of our electronics (except computers) are Sony. This blu-ray is no irregularity. Easy to setup, easy to use, some surprise features, still.Well the problem is on demand video from netflix or amazon or any other usefulness. It simply doesnt work... often. Its registered, and I verified it with Sony. Its connected to the internet with no problems and the browser works. Movies flood no problem on my PC. We have 6Mbs DSL so movies stream no problems on our PC. I rounded off placed it in the DMZ to allow all ports to talk to it without condition, no dice. Netflix has the unit registered and it is receiving information. It connected wired and wirelessly with neither working correctly with on requested video services.We got 1 movie to work only. All the idle about of the time it doesnt...

A passable device but some weird network issues
[This is a fancy review warranted by the number of features of the BDP-S580. I after to try to provide as much relevant information as I can in an attempt to cause this as useful to you as possible. Unexcelled Blu-Ray Player out there
I did a lot of delving before purchasing this player. I am not a big Sony fan, and lean more promoting Samsumg. I got a Samsung C6800 and returned it after a few days. When I got the Sony, the first place difference I noticed was the user friendly XMB menu bar on this player. Environs up options was a breeze and there are quite a bit that can be tweaked. The built-in Wi-Fi works flawlessly. Another gear feature it has is that as it streams content, it would lead you the current download speed which is neat. Scarcity to control your player from your phone, there's an iPhone App for that. Cross times and picture quality are comparable. It has nice sleak far-away as opposed to the quite-frankly ugly Samsumg meagre. So all in all it is a solid player and it has alot of the little touches that liberate it the best out there.On a side note, I agree with the other reviewer yon the limitation of picture quality on component video connections. But I would'nt accept any stars from this player for that...

Hush Smiling -- Beat all expectations

Talented Player for the new model year 2011
The player is horrible. The menu system is the best I've used in a player and I returned both a Sony BD560 and a Samsung 6500 in the future getting this unit. Netflix Works NOW!!!
I bought this hoping Netflix would travail as well as being an awesome blu-ray player. When I got it, the blu-ray player worked flawlessly...the Netflix come what may did not. I was kind of bummed because it had the same issue profuse of the reviewers here had posted about, so I felt like the example signs were there.
