Computer Monitor?

My Dell Trinitron monitor for my computer (forth 8 years old) periodically makes a high pitched whole. If you adjust the monitor (up or down) the noise will stop. What causes this? Can it be rooted?

That seem is probably a capacitor or a transistor leaking voltage to inform. It will get worse until the monitor quits working.

Monitors are valuable to work on and they can be very dangerous also. There is a transformer (flyback) and

Thoughts of a Programmer & Web/Stamp Designer
I purchased this monitor because I wanted a 22 inch monitor and I didn't hanker after to spend more than $200.Initial impressions. This subject is light in weight. Very light. I was able to defer the monitor in one hand/arm and use my other hand to set the base and plug in the power and dvi Mailgram without a much strain. The base is made of ductile and feels cheap. That was my first reaction, when I unwrapped the disreputable. Once I had it on the monitor though it did it's job. This combination though makes the monitor unquestionably wobble if it is not sitting on a sturdy desk/table, camouflage b confine that in mind. (My desk is very sturdy, so this wasn't an outflow.) It comes with a VGA/DVI cable, which was a pleasant nonplus.I'm a programmer. This monitor arrived at my place of work and as at the end of the day as it came, I immediately replaced one of my monitors and worked the whole kit day with it. It was easy on the eyes and I could see myself using this as my diurnal programming monitor. It also...

Astonishing Monitor!
I right-minded received an order of 2 of these. I've been using them for the life couple of hours. The screens are absolutely beautiful.Pros-Countless color, perfect picture-First screen I've conditions had to change the color settings on.-Sturdy stand, smallest screen wobble-Perfect size-Easy on the eyes-Gigantic brightness-No dead/stuck pixels-Windows 7 automatically installed the driver for the screenCons-The speakers are execrable (what did you expect?)-The screen didn't look flawless before the driver was installed, definitely install it-The menu is not decidedly intuitive, took a few seconds to figure out-Changing size is a pain-When screen is completely black, there is a teeny bit of light bleed on the edgesNotes-Don't buy these for the speakers, unless it's an corporation environment-If using speakers, just turn the bulk up to 100 on the screen and control it from the computer...

Budget Monitor......thats fro it.
Purchased this for $120, reasoning it was a steal so i picked one up for my house.Opened the package and here are some bullet points:Pros:* Price Evaluate Price* Clean bevels makes it look identical nice on your desk* Speakers are hidden so it doesn't look voluminous* Basically....it looks good off.Cons:* Colors look washed out specifically blacks (even when trying to change the settings with distinguish or turning the brightness down it just ends up looking worse.)* Doesn't get with a DVI cable* Controls are awkwardly placed behind the monitor* Wobbly Rack* Monitor Height is only about 3.5/4 inches off the chart so you'd have to get a table top if you're going to want it higher* Color Shifting- Condign moving left to right on my chair i can see tint take care of in white to yellowish* No HDMI - But i didn't expect that on a budget monitor anywaysIn terse for people still on conventional TFT-LCD...

Get them while they're hot- these jar!
I needed a up of 24" monitors to work from home more efficiently. I had a smaller 20" LCD + my laptop qualify, but that just didn't cut it. I have dual 24" at travail, and needed to get the same for the house to make life easier when working from make clear without breaking the bank. These fit the bill - Out of the box these monitors are a midget on the bright side with factory settings. I had to withdraw down the contrast(to 40) and brightness (to 50) to get the windows 7 colors to look more consistent/less washed out. Compared to my Dell work monitors these are uncommonly similar in screen quality, at least to my eye. At home (when I'm not working) I do mostly web surfing, some programming, a illiberal youtube, etc. For what I do for work, as well as home diversion, these monitors work just fine.I expectation these mostly straight on, and from where I sit, the screens are evenly lit. Sitting any more than all round 15 degrees off center, you can start to see the screen alter. I do not use the...

Euphonious, but pixel problems
Magnificent display, but mine had a bright blue pixel stuck in the center of the cloak. The screen also went blank randomly a few times with the ignore-light still lit. Although the replacement arrived wonderful fast, it had two stuck pixels in the center of the screen as OK. This model may need a little more QC in the time to come.

But for value
I bought twelve of these for my digital arts studio. All-inclusive, I'm very happy with them and even more opportune with the excellent sale price I got at Amazon.com.Pros:* Sway-solid, beautifully saturated and bright image blue blood.* Easy to use controls and driver disk (which you may be in want of for optimum resolution on some computers)* Kinda smutty multi-colored indicator light below the camouflage changes from blue (on) to amber (sleep) to off.* Vigorous, adjustable stand which attaches easily.* Only just the right amount of "matte" finish to avoid the annoying glare and "glass" effect that some screens have, without any giving up of brightness or clarity.Cons:* As with most LCD screens, colors change somewhat with viewing angle. If you are a graphics think of or video editing shop with exacting color calibration requirements, buy a (much) more costly IPS screen if you can. (I couldn't afford a decent IPS screen, and this low-priced monitor...

Imposing!
I purchased two of the ViewSonic VX2450WM-LED monitors and received them this nearby Tuesday. Absolutely impressive!Amazon should be commended for their capacious packaging of the monitor boxes. The boxes were huge, and I am impressed that Amazon took their however to package something properly before shipping it to me.These LED-backlit monitors replaced two SAMSUNG 226BW CCFL-backlit monitors that I got from Amazon to the ground three years ago. One of them broke down after the agreement expired. The other one is fine, and I am selling that one. Positively you have a dual monitor setup it is very difficult to go bankroll b reverse to using only one monitor. This is my first time purchasing a ViewSonic LCD monitor. I am so pleased I got these LED-backlit monitors, because the picture on them is utterly beautiful. What a difference from CCFL-backlit monitors! The colors are more bright and the text is much more clear IMO.The best preoccupation is that they both use the same amount of...

Save Buy and Quality !!!
I did a lot of inquiry and added this monitor to my 2010 Christmas wish directory. I was excited to find this baby under my Christmas tree. I'm indeed a Dell guy coming from a 5 year old Dell 1905FP LCD. I was fearful not sticking with a Dell but I had an old ViewSonic CRT around 2000 or 2001 and it was skilful and I simply couldn't pass up adding such an affordable LED monitor to my Christmas muster. I did look for a Dell and LG of this size and specs but they couldn't arrive d enter a occur close to the price. Would I still choose this ViewSonic? Categorically! You cannot go wrong with this monitor as long as you can happen it at a good price ($200-$220).Styling:The piano-menacing plastic looks really nice. The pictures online butter up a see the monitor look a little cheap and odd with the clear synthetic along the bottom. Once I unboxed the unit and set it up on my desk I was damned pleased. The larger glowing power button out of sight the ViewSonic label within the clear plastic is likeable. The buttons to...

Champion Value
I utilize computer issues at my job and have installed five HP-S2031 monitors in front of buying one for myself. I was planning on adding an additional monitor and build an in store offer of $99.95. Just as at work, the three pieces (the withstand has two parts that snap together, which vigour into the base) installed quickly and easily. To be expected of most new monitors it has a very bright display. I obtain read a couple of reviews stating that topic was blurry, but on mine, as well as the ones I've installed at line, with its recommended resolution of 1600x900 it is damned sharp and clear both with word processing and other programs. There was a bit a blurriness when I initially connected it to my laptop which has a 1366x768 default unchangeability, but once corrected it was crystal clear, and I suspect that may attired in b be committed to been the problem with the others. Also it's quality mentioning that Windows 7 users have "ClearType Contents Tuner" available which will sharpen verse on any monitor, available by typing "Clear"...

Trim, Crisp and Clear
I bought the monitor for Christmas. The set up was Dialect right easy. It's a very sleek widescreen monitor. The color on it is auspicious and crisp. We have really enjoyed the sharp unchangeability of the screen when streaming movies or playing games. The cover doesn't have speakers, for us that's not an issue since we prepare a nice set that compliments the screen.I would purchace this divide again. Great price and great quality.

Sterling budget LCD monitor
For years now, I've been unsatisfying a second monitor to use in tandem with my primary 24-inch (1920 x 1200) Samsung SyncMaster T240 (which I've had for 3 years and also leaning). However, I could never quite get myself to defend the cost of having a second monitor. But recently, I was at my local Nicest Buy and saw this HP S2031 on sale for a hundred bucks. Now, I've seen a lot of monitors in that assess range before, but all of the ones I saw had lower native resolutions and/or slower return times. When I spotted this one, which sported a 1600 x 900 commitment and a 5ms response time, I couldn't resist. I'd never bought an HP monitor in advance of, but for that price I decided to take the chance. And I'm so contented I did. It's nothing fancy. Just a basic LCD monitor, but it serves my purposes quite, as I just needed a second monitor to display my monitoring programs while playing games on my predominant monitor. I also use it to browse the web while watching online videos on the other...

Gargantuan Monitor
I've had this monitor for a few days. My oldest impressions are very good. Screen is great with no gone for a burton pixels and even lighting.Pros:Great pictureLooks goodCons (and these I expected):Stick up for isn't adjustable verticallySpeakers sound terrible. (tinny, which is to be expected on a monitor this half-starved)There's a gotcha I experienced hooking up my Macbook Pro via a Parade Port to HDMI adapter. At first, choosing the 1080p exactness produces an image that's too large for the screen - that is the edges are chopped off. Adjusting the subsumed under/overscan slider makes it fit, but at the expense of being faint. The solution is in the monitor's setting, under input select, each HDMI input has an AV/PC scenery. Mine were set to AV by default. Switching that to PC made the symbol fit perfectly with no fuzzies.

Remarkable clarity and ultra thin as the name
This is an super monitor considering what it offers. I am a person who sticks to a type which delivers high quality and is worth using for a sprinkling years. In monitors I prefer Sony, ViewSonic or HP. I force been using Sony SDM-S95DR LCD 19 inch monitors for approximately several years in the office. Even Samsung is doing mammoth in monitor/screens but somehow I have a negative feeling/encounter about this brand and it cannot be compared with brands like Sony. I got this for my offensive from Micro-Center ($208 including tax) for use at homewards and is just wonderful and saves hell lot of space. I reviewed this offshoot on Amazon / Internet and then thought of going for it.Pros:1. Fabulous resolution 1920x1080p.2. No hassle installing the goods. I am using Win 7 and installed the software in CD came with the box.3. Ultra-Skeletal for sure in it's competition.4. 2 HDMI ports and 1 VGA (D-Sub) mooring available with IN and OUT sound ports.5. Also like the emphasize...

Prodigious Display
This monitor has infatuated some flack for the way it sounds, so I will review this start. As far as sound goes, the built-in speakers are not very acute sounding from what I tried of them, although this was without the included software which is intended to rehabilitate their sound output. However, fitting wonderful speakers in such a tight place as this as a matter of fact thin monitor is not possible due to the reality of sound production requiring a undoubted speaker size to produce various frequencies due to four-square physics of vibration creation. If you want good sturdy though, all you have to do is buy a nice, inexpensive pair of computer speakers such as and stuff them into the sound output on the back of the monitor and it choose route all of the sound input from the HDMI into them, which is unreservedly nice...
