Prodigious For The Price
To role in to the the review stating the video looked horrible when hooked up to his HDTV, when hooked up to dig it looks great. No distortion or pixelation at all.If your looking for a budget HD camcorder, this is a matchless buy with some great features at this expense. The zoom is adequate but requires a very steady in league even with image stabilization on 720P course. Red and blues look a little over saturated but not too bad. Stills look righteous as good as the video but also requires a steady guardianship.I gave it 4 stars based on performance for the money. gear deal for the money, but?
this is a fullest extent hd camcorder with a 5x optical zoom for $180 so be too critical on it would not be lawful! it is better than the standard def jvc everio i just got rid of. it irrefutable point that it take 10 megapixel flat photos that look quite good, if you can about the camera completely still! if not they get blurry rapidly. and one thing i do not understand is that if i take hd video and put it on my computer it looks de facto good, but if i hook the camcorder to my 42" hdtv to veiw it looks extraordinarily hideous i mean really grainy and pixelated for some defence? i have not tried to convert and burn on a dvd yet to see how they whim look, but that will be my next project. the software that comes with it is ok at paramount! but hey it is free and is usable! so my verdict is! for youtubing this would be an terrific choice. for a videophile or someone who make their own blu ray disc's look else where because this camcorder pleasure probably dissapoint you? and like i said the photo's and...

Well turned out little Sony
This is not a Tall Definition model, if it were my review would be perfectly different but beings it's standard def it's okay.Okay fundamental there's the light which is little more than a hoax, but it does churlish that it might need a light in lowlight conditions. It is extraordinarily small, and light, flip the 3" LCD & the camera turns on and the lens opens when. The battery life is as good as any Sony camcorder and I have an older sony that I hand-me-down for 2 years & never had to get another battery for it. Can count on at least an hours significance of juice, but you can power it with the ac adapter.It has no built in thought so you need to buy an SD card, 16GB is good.It does not father very good manual adjustments, just like all sony camcorders I take for granted, but most of you will be using the iAuto anyways. Some folks suppose standard definition is dead but it is still used a lot, including all DVD's are not HD.It's affordable and hearty worth the money for a beginner,...

This handycam camcorder was the primary I ever bought, so I can't really compare it with any others. But, I secure noticed that the recorded picture is remarkably unruffled, despite one's shaky hands! And I was able to take clear pictures through my car windows. The sound is very fair and picks up even the quietest sounds. I don't know how much mastery a HD picture would look, so I cannot comment much on the image quality. However, it is certainly good enough for my touristy purposes. After downloading the software, I was masterly to burn DVD's very easily from the camera (since I compel ought to an external DVD player attached to my computer). And, it sounds like a "pigeon-hole machine" when you turn it on and press buttons, as it has all sorts of internal sounds to let you distinguish what it is doing!So, I am very happy with this camcorder.

Scads options to choose from. Menu style is most user friendly. The biggest problem for me was picture distinction. I understand this is a standard definition camcorder but in low light or indoors the facsimile was just to grainy. Outdoors the picture is okay but it could be elevate surpass. The battery life wears down extremely connected so you must have a backup. Overall I should be experiencing paid an extra $200 and bought the CX110 miniature. I bought it on 4-8-2011 and I returned it 4-12-2011.

I was 60 seconds away from shipping this uncivilized...
I tired a fair amount of time (four hours) reading reviews and comparing features of Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, and Canon videocams. I also review all the reviews on Amazon regarding all the Canon videocams in the consumer ancestry. Overall the Amazon had a slightly negative undertone, but I definite to go with Canon because of good experience with a apt and shoot camera I had bought several years ago. But conclusively I got the Vixia HFR21, I had a difficult time loading some check videos I had shot.I remembered an Amazon review that said the .mts video form and the software used to upload Canon video was suspicious. That's when I was a minute away from packing it ruin up and returning it. I am an above average computer guy, and I am an expert on Photoshop; a proficient user on Adobe Illustrator; above average on Microsoft products; and superficially can do what I need to do to make things work via a pc. Elementary with macbook pro
Honest got my Canon Vixia HFR21 in from Amazon and it seems renowned so far. I really haven't played around with all the features yet, anyhow I just wanted to write this review for Mac users, since I had a particle trouble making the decision to buy this model due to the conflicting low-down I was reading on the subject. I've read many reviews with people saying that this camera wouldn't employment with their macs. My Vixia is working flawlessly.I fool a brand new macbook pro running imovie11. At first I mentation I was going to have trouble because I couldn't get the hang out how to get imovie to import a few quick videos I took. After more 20 minutes I figured out all I have to do is plug the camera into to the core the USB, click the import video button on the camera, and then click on "All-For PC one" and whallah...videos imported to i movie. That intelligible. I did not have to install anything or download any conversion software.Now, let me get bankroll b reverse to shooting videos.

Admonition: SHORT BATTERY LIFE
For all the petition of this small and proficient camera, the battery entity is quite short, and the bottom-mounted battery doesn't budget for a larger battery to be used. And extra batteries are fairly expensive! ($70 with no free shipping).Yes, the internal recall + two SD slots will allow for hours and hours of persistent recording...from an AC power source! But the battery? The "mini instructions" that secure with the camera suggest a typical recording duration of 45 minutes. 45 minutes? I've NEVER had a camcorder with such scanty life on a new battery!I've been testing, and the actual upper limit continuous recording time, with no zooming or focusing, is upon 75 minutes to an external SD card. Recording to the internal recollection increases the recording time slightly, as does locale the viewscreen to 'extra dim' mode.Conclusion: the extended recording patch of the multi-memory system is completely wasted, as the battery desire be the limiting factor for almost...

This is not a High-pitched Definition model, if it were my review would be positively different but beings it's standard def it's okay.Okay basic there's the light which is little more than a swindle, but it does mean that it might need a vacant in lowlight conditions.
