Dlp Projectors And Rainbow Effect?

I am waiting to buy an Optoma HD72 DLP projector. On some lower-end DLP projectors, I sometimes see and annoying "rainbow effect."
Thinks fitting I be constantly seeing the rainbow effect on this projector.

Also, If someone

The more segments and the faster the color pivot, the less likely you will see the rainbow effect. Entry level DLP projectors prepare 2x, 4 segment color wheel. High end color wheels wishes have 6-8 segments running at 5-speed. Jibe the specs.

Does a in reality excellent job for the price!
I bought this projector 3 weeks ago from Amazon. Enunciation was prompt and on time. The projector came in the usual Optoma box but without a communicate case. Of course I knew that, but one would possess been nice anyway. I had already printed out the vade-mecum (at work of course) from the Optoma website.Set up was easy enough but a teensy-weensy time consuming as the settings where totally off. I credit everyone using this projector primarily for up on theater will and should set the bulb to standard. The dividend lumen will come in handy however when using the 3D glasses to dream in light of 3D content.Once calibrated, picture quality was bleeding impressive for a 720p projector. Blacks were hellish enough, color and shadow, rich and detailed. The projector does a tangibles job (imo) of scaling 1080p content. I have two Blu-ray players and the projector showed Blu-ray delight a lot better with my Philips player so like the aggregate else the source is important.Overall I'm very blithe with my purchase. Couldn't...

Marvellous box for the price
Extremely nice projector, good colors, brightness and sinister levels. This is not going to compete with a $2k projector, but for its distinction, it does a really impressive job.I gave it 4 stars preferably of 5 because out of the box, the settings make the image look from A to Z poor, complete loss of detail in faces, husk tones are definitely off. After some quick calibraiton, Specifically:- I turned down the bulb to paragon- turned "Brilliant Color" way down- reduced the dissimilarity to about 42-45.- I also turned down the brightness to 43, but after doing a THX optimizer, brought the brightness retaliation up to the standard 50.AFTER CALIBRATION, I am VERY tickled pink with the colors, the black levels are good (not Cyclopean, but pretty darn good) and the shadow detail is much better than what I cause seen in the past.I would recommend this projector to anyone looking for a ht projector in this charge range.(Also, as others have reported, the...

Significant entry level projector......
....but ended up flourishing with the HD20.This is my first projector and I use it solely for watching movies; blu-ray, DVD, and streaming HD from VUDU\Netflix. I had nothing to parallel it to except for my brothers which was a Optoma 1080p projector with a distract of 15-18 feet.I was very impressed out of the box. Blu-ray looks eximious @ 11' throw\85" diag. picture. Works rather well in ambient light, but really comes alert in lights off. HD stuff looks really good from viewing mileage of 12'.There is some rainbow effect, but not often at all and usually during credits. Certainly not a extent breaker for me. We watch it directly off our light gray painted protection and it looks very good. Older DVD's are blurry, but that is by the skin of one's teeth the nature of the lower res DVDs. The texture of the wall and no advance gray paint will require a screen long run.The controls are pretty basic and simple to use. There are some advanced calibration settings that I didn't concoction...

Ripping sub $1k 1080p projector!!
Let me get this candid to you. If you're trying to buy your first projector, just go buy it or regard it in action. You don't have to look at all the negativity surrounding this projector. I definitely was pushed away from this projector because of all these rainbow effect comments and I was partiality toward the Optoma H20 because of the 4 color segmant vicinity which is supposed to be faster and produces less rainbow effect than the Vivitek H1080FD. But you take to know that This Vivitek projector has higher set off than the optoma H20. That's what indeed matters to me. I'm glad I took the Vivitek route. I unusually can't say anything bad about the Optoma HD20 since I don't have it, but I can be influential you that my Vivitek is amazing as my first ever projector and I'm consummately satisfied with it.I unboxed the projector and hooked it to my PS3 using HDMI chain and projected the image on a light yellow flat screen from about 6 feet away, from that aloofness and using the maximum zoom, you'll...

Shabby Customer Service
I've had my projector for 4 months, and the color on HDMI seaport 1 has gone out. The color on port 2 still works masterly, but I can't get a response from customer service. Also, every now when I start the projector the bulb doesn't round on for several minutes. Other times it starts up instantly. I can't hit upon any information about whether this is normal, but again, chap service won't respond. They only provide an online built and no actual phone number. It's been more than 30 days since I sent my first place service request, and haven't received an email equalize confirming that they received my service call for. BAD BAD BAD

Skint after 2 weeks
This projector was intimate for 2 weeks. Then trouble started. The projector choose shut down after 50 to 80 minutes into the big. The screen goes blank, the power button flashes and fan comes on uncensored blast. If I leave it, the fan will stay on forever. If I power down and restart, the projector shuts down after 5 minutes or so. Some courteous of overheating problem? I was extremely disappointed!Contacted Vivitek and all they can do is to put it. It's within the warranty period, so I won't have to pay for the repair. But I'll silence have to pay $20 or so to ship it to them. Why do I have to pay anything for receiving a feeble-minded item? I'm already being inconvenienced with the hassel of having to earnings it. I guess that's how they handle warranty help. The silver lining to all this is that Amazon replaced the on the fritz projector for a new one. I didn't have to pay a cent, even for returning. They also shipped the new one to me accurately away, and didn't...

A Beginner's Point of view
I fool little prior experience with projectors other than some business experiences and extensive reading leading up to my purchase. Some things to cognizant of about projectors in general, versus this one in particular:1. Yet "bright" projectors are not bright by LCD or plasma TV standards. A review boasting how a projector works spectacularly even in a "lit" room is talking about a lamp on in the furthest corner, not a living space with the blinds up in daylight. This projector manages with reference to 2500 lumens in practical conditions, which is considered cheerful compared to most consumer projectors, but you'll still need a barest dim room to get the most from it.2. There are two kinds of projectors you'll cater to to encounter: LCD projectors and DLP projectors. LCD projectors can lose points with people because each pixel (squares that promulgate up the image) can be a little too crisp and delineated. This sounds righteousness but can make you feel like you're watching a giant Gameboy...

Frightening Projector
Received this latest week, but I was on vacation - and for once, I couldnt wait to get uncivilized from vacation to play .... Well, if you are making allowance for this purchase - stop debating and do it. I have hand-me-down my PS3 and NVidia PlayTV from my laptop and this projector is formidable from a 3D and a 2D prospective. So far there is no downside to this projector - I dont use it as my brute setup - but I use it for some gaming and movie viewing on my new 120" Projector Filter ....

Extraordinary 3D projector for the PS3
I ordered this along with a Uncircumscribed ceiling mount and use it as my Primary TV in my living room. Show is great, 3D functionality is really cool with the PS3 and it is agreeable not needing to have any additional converter boxes (3D-XL). It has been up and match for 2 days now. Awesome Product.Cons: I wish this projector had a Lens Switch to allow for more flexible mounting positions. I hankering their were some more options for 3D glasses that Uphold DLP Link.Overall: Very Satisfied

Flawless step up from the HD20
I upgraded to this projector from my HD20 and had a speculation to compare them on my 150" 1.1 gain screen.Out of the box the frowning levels looked slightly better than the HD20 but not tolerably to call it an improvement IMO. However, the contrast difference to me is a massive improvement. The picture looks much brighter and the higher end of the pale-scale has much more punch to it. I first A/B'd How To Exercise Your Dragon in 2D and it was immediately obvious that the HD33 outperformed it on juxtapose and overall color saturation. Much more WOW and POP to the painting. The HD33 was a little quieter than the HD20 in both modes as brim over. Standing six feet from them while they were at unemployed, I could clearly tell which one was making more clamour... that being the HD20, with the HD33 on the contrary emitting a faint whir from its fan. In 3D mode the HD33's fan kicks up a youthful but nothing too bad... the HD33 sounded just as loud in 3D standard operating procedure as the HD20 in eco-mode for comparison.I am...

Stirring 3D!
Honest received my HD33 Saturday Sept. 3rd. I was not sure how good the 3D would look, now I Creole believe how good this projector is. 2D images are danged good, it reminds me the Sony I have and will carry on to use it for regular movies, VPL-AW10, got this one back in 2007 it has 1024 hrs on the lamp, and it is noiseless looking Very Good, I should change the lamp when reaches maybe 2000 hrs.Behindhand to the HD33, this is my second 3D pj, got last dec.2010 the LG BX327, but not in any degree liked, bad image contrast ratio, poor 2d, bad 3d and 4:3 native, just bad. I think it will be prevailing to the trash tomorrow. The HD33 is amazing! The 3D quality is impressive. I tested it in discrete movies I have and they came out excellent. The element is solid, and much better than from the pictures I've seen.I was judgement to get the Sony 3D projector or the Panasonic model, but I am glad that I chose this one.It resolution work just fine with the DLP Link glasses, I incline towards this one over the RF...

Unbelievable
I be subjected to been waiting for a new projector since last Turn out to be inadequate when the choices were very limited. After reading all the reviews on this one I definitely took the plunge and it is awesome. Has that nice DLP "pop" and since it's free chip there are no convergence issues inherent with 3 morsel LCD. Was going to wait for the Epson 3010, but that won't comprise Frame Interpolation which is a necessity in my book. 3D games are extraordinary. Hook up an HTPC and you have everything you need.UPDATE: I had the opening to do a side by side comparison with the Epson 3010, which is this projector's tactless competitor. Here are the results:Sharpness: The Optoma is choice. Not only is it sharper, but to get the Epson even close you take to increase the sharpness controls which results in a entirely noisy and grainy picture.Color: Colors on the Optoma were more lifelike. The Epson seemed dull no matter which settings were occupied.Uniformity: The Optoma demonstrated...

Entirely nice, but missing some aspect features.
The HC1500 is a entirely nice projector, especially for the price. I upgraded from an . By contrasting, the HC1500 is much brighter, quieter, and more crumbly. It also fit my existing ceiling mount, which was altogether convenient. The only problem I've not found a fix for is the aspect correspondence selection. The SP4805 was native 16:9, but also had a manner for 4:3, and another which cropped a 4:3 perfect to 16:9 and enlarged it to fill the whole screen. This configuration was really nice for TV broadcasts and old DVDs filmed in 16:9 but scatter in 4:3 with black bars. Without that zoomed/cropped style, you have to watch it in 4:3 mode, so you see the black bars both on the sides of the riddle and then again on the top and bottom. This means you're basically looking at an counterpart 2/3 the size of your...

5 Nova rating for the Champion
I would like to head state this projector will do 1:1 pixel mapping be means of the HDMI port from a computer. This was my not concern as there is little to no evidence this works nicely from other reviews. Within the first five minutes of owning this part I successfully output 1280 x 720 @ 60Hz through a DVI to HDMI strand from an Nvidia 7800GT video card. The only loyal adjustment to produce this 1:1 pixel mapping was to set the projector to "genuine" in the aspect option, and then set the overscan to 100% (come up short is 97% overscan). The projector will now display a fitting 1:1 pixel mapping as you would expect from a XGA projector or a PC monitor with no artifacting, frequency rumour, or shimmer in text/fine lines due to scaling. It is flawless. Now for the review, this is our fifth projector and four of those were DLP. My concluding projector that I can compare it to directly is the BenQ PB6240 XGA projector with 2700 lumens and 2000:1 set ratio. This is a wonderful projector...

Unbiased juxtaposing to SONY LCD projector
I at purchased the Mitsubishi HC1500 DLP projector, but had some problems with it. Ordered this one from amazon and put them side by side. This isn't a commentary so much as a comparison between 3 Chip LCD and SINGLE Splinter DLP (which tend to be in the same price range). I in reality liked the HC1500 a lot, but ended up keeping this SONY VLPAW10 for a slues of reasons. It's not perfect, and in some areas underperforms the DLP. Here's the weighing.Single chip DLP projectors create images by having a "token" filled with thousands of tiny mirrors (1 per pixel on the divide) that can tilt up and down. When they inclination, they send light to the screen, when they don't cant joust with, the light stays in the projector. This ends up creating wonderfully shining and brilliant images. The only problem with this setup is that there's no color (ethical the white light is being directed) so the color needs to be introduced by spinning a color place in front of the chip. (in this case it's a 7 segment...
