1080p Goodness for the budget-minded!
I first off wrote this review on another site, and now that I've had more at the same time with this projector I have added and changed a few things and am reposting the scrutinize on Amazon. I think more people will look to Amazon when purchasing this projector, noticeably since the other site is not stocking it anymore. Optimistically this review helps those of you who are on the edge down purchasing this projector.Pros: Good looking, brightness-white finish. Low-noise fan on normal-bulb vogue. 4000 hours lamp life on econo is greater then most projectors! Ample enough to use in bright mode to use with lights turned on in the extent. In the dark, it looks simply amazing!1080p delight looks very good. Blu-rays played from a PS3 (or other blu-ray virtuoso) look awesome. I watched Kung-Fu Panda and was "wowed" by what you can heed on a much larger screen. I just watched Transformers : Get even with of the Fallen on it last night and I was amazed at the details and I noticed things I didn't unbiased...

Beginning impressions, very pleased
This was an upgrade for me from a 720p, DLP projector (Mitsubishi HD1000u). First impressions are very positive, based on about 10 hours of viewing & tweaking. Awfully quiet, and plenty bright running in low power standard operating procedure. The high resolution (1920 X 1080) approaches that for a ordinary 2k digital cinema, so my 145" diagonal screen, viewed from forth 15 feet distance, provides a very pleasing talking picture experience. That said, the increase in resolution from 720p is an incremental traditional, so it is not the be all and end all of image quality in projectors. More specifically the source fabric you feed it is what really brings out the quality. Profuse HD feed materials (from cable or satellite) don't still approach the inherent resolution of the projector, so at this cape only blu-ray source material will really reject the utmost in high resolution detail (and not even all disks, depending on the model mastering, etc.). Calibration is tougher!!
I enjoy been playing with the HD20 for last couple of days. I am pacific not sure what to say. Unlike any of my previous projectors(Optoma HD31 and HD70) it gives u too innumerable options to calibrate. I guess that is a good matter. However,I am still struggling with this operation and seems like quite overwhelming to me. Good reaction is picture is much bigger and brighter than HD70. Wonderful wide is a nice option. However, in terms of depiction details I am still not sure what to say especially with the downloaded HD satisfy. Apparently it needs lot more tweaking( and hard profession) to calibrate it properly. I was reading different forums and there I impute to that it actually needs 100 odd hours for the bulb to people down. So that might be the reason too. Hence, to summarize, in terms of mass and brightness, the improvement is significant. But as of now sadly I cannot say that in terms of fill someone in quality and details. I will keep u updated as I keep continuing the calibration process.Update:...

Does a in truth excellent job for the price!
I bought this projector 3 weeks ago from Amazon. Enunciation was prompt and on time. The projector came in the usual Optoma box but without a drag case. Of course I knew that, but one would receive been nice anyway. I had already printed out the enchiridion (at work of course) from the Optoma website.Set up was weak enough but a little time consuming as the settings where perfectly off. I believe everyone using this projector ab initio for home theater will and should set the bulb to standard. The extra lumen resolve come in handy however when using the 3D glasses to judgement 3D content.Once calibrated, picture quality was really impressive for a 720p projector. Blacks were scurvy enough, color and shadow, rich and detailed. The projector does a attractive thorough job (imo) of scaling 1080p content. I have two Blu-ray players and the projector showed Blu-ray subject-matter a lot better with my Philips player so like the entirety else the source is important.Overall I'm very beneficial with my purchase. Marked box for the price
Remarkably nice projector, good colors, brightness and raven levels. This is not going to compete with a $2k projector, but for its presence, it does a really impressive job.I gave it 4 stars as opposed to of 5 because out of the box, the settings make the image look completely poor, complete loss of detail in faces, rind tones are definitely off. After some quick calibraiton, Specifically:- I turned down the bulb to pattern- turned "Brilliant Color" way down- reduced the juxtapose to about 42-45.- I also turned down the brightness to 43, but after doing a THX optimizer, brought the brightness assist up to the standard 50.AFTER CALIBRATION, I am VERY satisfied with the colors, the black levels are good (not colossal, but pretty darn good) and the shadow detail is much change one's mind than what I have seen in the past.I would counsel this projector to anyone looking for a ht projector in this worth range.(Also, as others have reported, the...

Major entry level projector......
....but ended up current with the HD20.This is my first projector and I use it solely for watching movies; blu-ray, DVD, and streaming HD from VUDU\Netflix. I had nothing to the same class with it to except for my brothers which was a Optoma 1080p projector with a to notice d throw of 15-18 feet.I was very impressed out of the box. Blu-ray looks excellent @ 11' throw\85" diag. picture. Works definitely well in ambient light, but really comes teeming in lights off. HD stuff looks really good from viewing reserve of 12'.There is some rainbow effect, but not much at all and usually during credits. Certainly not a deal breaker for me. We shield it directly off our light gray painted wall and it looks profoundly good. Older DVD's are blurry, but that is just the properties of the lower res DVDs. The texture of the wall and no gain gray cover will require a screen eventually.The controls are fetching basic and simple to use. Most adroitly 1080p Projector for the price right now
I researched projectors for a acutely long time, reading reviews on avsforum.com, Projectorreviews.com, and other be like sites. I finally decided on this projector after reading all the reviews. This is my start projector so I am probably very easily impressed, but this quirk just blows me away. Everybody who has seen me demo it is entirely impressed with the picture quality. I am using the out-of-the-box settings because I've not in any degree seen any need to tweak anything because it looks so full. I got this for under $700 for a Cyber monday act. You just can't beat that price for the picture this emotional attachment provides.I can't comment on the DLP rainbow effect. I've never seen them, but I don't actually know what they even look like in the in the first place place. Important performance for the money
This is the most adroitly-performing 1080P projector for the money right now. As lengthy as you use the default color setting, it looks fantastic for movies, too. It's refulgent enough to be used with some ambient luminous. There are only two downsides I can see: (1) the enhanced hateful setting causes the projector to give out a noticeable buzzing during its firm adjustments, along with visible dimming in the drawing at times, and (2) switching from the default color home produces dreadful color tints, so don't plan on exclusively adjusting this unless you have a few hours and the just tools to get it right. Great product for the money although!

Discouraging horizontal paning
After two months of use, I the feeling I did not make a good choice. Horizontal movements are not soft at all. It hurts the eyes, especially when watching sports programs and remedy movies. After buying, I found that it is a 24 frames per stand-in projector instead of a 60fps one. Eco mode must be set every in good time always you turn the projector on. The good things of the Pro 8200 you conclude from from the manufacturer are true and plenty to consider, but the bloody annoying horizontal juddering or shaking effect ought to also be considered.

Devoted Buy!
We've been game this projector for a week now. For the price - couldn't be happier! This is our 3rd home theater projector. 1st was an Infocus IN72 (480), newer was the Mits HC1500 (720). After 4 years the 1500 was dawn to have issues, plus was due for its 3rd bulb replacement, so certain to upgrade to 1080. Researched the 8200 at Projectorcentral.com and Projectorreviews.com ... Both sites gave it a opinionated review and said that it was a good buy. Projectorreviews gave it a "Hot By-product" rating.This thing is a light cannon. Wonderful bright. Running it in Eco mode is fine even in a lodge that has ambient light. Blu Ray and HD-DVD performance is stunning. Awsome figure clairity and sharpness. The Nunn's
We definitely love this projector. We bought it for our home theater and my husband has it projecting onto a 102" curtain in a 12' x 18' room. The picture is amazing and we could not be happier. My groom is a techy, so we a surround sound, Direct TV, PS3, iPod passenger station, computer, etc. hooked up to this projector. My 3 and 4 year old enjoyment watching movies on the big screen with their daddy.

Superlative for movies, VERY BRIGHT - bad lag for gaming though
I've had my epson 3010 for a few weeks now, and I find creditable I've reached the point where I'm familiar enough to put together a beneficent opinion with a few backing facts.First, this matter is **BRIGHT**. As in, lights all the way up in the room, still plentifulness bright BRIGHT. I'm coming from another projector that's rated at 2800 lumens (optoma pro350w), and this reaction blows it out of the water for brightness!For image quality - I'm not a trained critic, but it does look exceptionally reliable to my untrained eye. Key a quick background. I am not a videophile and am new to PJ world and dont beget any biases for/against LCD or DLP. I am a huge 3D enthusiast and bought a latest ideal of a 65" Panasonic plasma 3DTV for 2K, only to be disappointed with ashamed crosstalk.
