pretty darn eulogistic
I am in reality quite pleased with this projector. Wanted a projector to supplant my very old NEC SVGA one with hdmi for xbox gaming and dvd/etc in the basement and i am now projecting take a 5ft high image on a white painted wall. Was looking extensively for months, comparing lamp individual, native output, etc, etc, and waiting for something acceptable at the charge point i wanted. Found this one for $449, which was expressively below what i expected to pay, but there is no comprimise.DVD property was excellent as well. I played a few games of Black Ops order up, and found myself trying to look around corners and up exceeding things. For the price and with 3d ability(which i cannot reveal on yet), i could not be happier. Colors are really good with a # of preset and configurable settings via the lesser remote. Audio is obviously not going to knock your socks off, as i haven't run it owing to the amp yet, but it is still more than acceptable. Kicks my upstairs HD toshiba exact replica...

Reputable for 2D but not for 3D viewing
BenQ MX511 is 3D gracious but it does not support HD source for 3D. You can see 3D only using composite (yellow) or s-video rope (advised by BenQ tech support). To see HD 3D you need HDMI 1.4 input and this projector only support HDMI 1.3 input. I hooked up Sony 3D Titillating ray player (BDPS470) with HDMI 1.3 to this projector and this amalgam was not able to project 3D image on screen. It automatically playback to 2D/1080p. Menu Recourse in BenQ for 3D setup also got disabled/turn off with this setup. I tease checked with composite cable to see 3D with DLP vinculum ready glass and 3D was horrible with no depth, seems like 2D.

arrant 3d machine using cheap dlp glasses and viewsonic vp3d1
i purchased the mx511 roughly three months ago. i have to say it's awesome. hdmi works intimate. it's the only thing i have hooked up. i have it hooked up to my directv and ps3. i am operation through a viewsonic vp3d1 adapter. i am using cheap 3d dlp tie-in glasses made by futurecinema.. i am totally pleased. if you betray around, you can get this unit for around 450.00 and less if refurbished. i am not current to waste you time talking about the clarity of the paint. it's awesome. i have watched 3d through espn 3d, 3net, on directv and it looks enthusiastic. i have also bought and watched tron:legacy, inhabitant evil:afterlife, piranha, the green hornet, alice in wonderland, tangeled, cat and dogs 2. as i said before, they look elevated. regular blue rays play perfect. if there is one the to gripe in it's about my samsung ht5500 bluray surround. hdmi doesn't pick up thru it. i beget heard that samsung has had the same problems with absolute manufacturers. not a deal breaker.Dec 9th 2011...

Rainbow Meaning A Deal Breaker
I did a lot of homework formerly buying this product (my first projector). If you've done the nevertheless, you'll know this is a great projector for home the boards use - with all the right features and a lot of bang for the buck. This is all steadfast. I sampled projectors with better/higher features and saw nothing significance twice the price. There is no doubt (unless well-heeled truly is NO OBJECT) that this is the projector to elect for home theatre. Hi Def TV, Telegram, DVD's and X-box all look Fantastic!
Base line - best major purchase I have made since I bought a shelter with a finished basement!I got the projector and mounted it on the ceiling in my basement projecting on a gentle-brown wall. I expected that I would indigence to paint the walls white, or get a screen, but was shocked by the astounding picture quality. Here are the details:1) Comcast Cable with HiDef Box. Hidef program is so surprising it makes me want to cry. Sports programing blows the intellect away. I even enjoy watching boring hi-def shows with the strife, like the Oscars, just because I am so amazed at how crystal absolute the picture looks. You feel like you are there! Semi-annual TV looks surprisingly great too, but setting it up right is depreciating. Make sure to change the aspect ratio slyly to Native (vs 16:9 when watching hi-def channels). Careful product, forget about service
Effects product, forget about service. I e-mailed InFocus wide my faulty projector 8th January 2005it is now 7th January 2006 and I silence do not have my projector. That's right, it's been ONE YEAR sincemy projector stopped working, I give birth to given up on it being repaired (it was under warranty) and am nowstruggling to get it chasing so that I can repair it out of my own pocket. Check this companionship's record atthe Better Business Bureau, it is deemed to be deficient due to unanswered complaints.

1080p Goodness for the budget-minded!
I commencement wrote this review on another site, and now that I've had more chance with this projector I have added and changed a few things and am reposting the critique on Amazon. I think more people will look to Amazon when purchasing this projector, uniquely since the other site is not stocking it anymore. It is hoped this review helps those of you who are on the edge back purchasing this projector.Pros: Good looking, lustre-white finish. Low-noise fan on normal-bulb status. 4000 hours lamp life on econo is greater then most projectors! Opportune enough to use in bright mode to use with lights turned on in the scope. In the dark, it looks simply amazing!1080p load looks very good. Blu-rays played from a PS3 (or other blu-ray contender) look awesome. I watched Kung-Fu Panda and was "wowed" by what you can heed on a much larger screen. Primary impressions, very pleased
This was an upgrade for me from a 720p, DLP projector (Mitsubishi HD1000u). Primary impressions are very positive, based on about 10 hours of viewing & tweaking. Definitely quiet, and plenty bright running in low power method. The high resolution (1920 X 1080) approaches that for a in character 2k digital cinema, so my 145" diagonal screen, viewed from in 15 feet distance, provides a very pleasing flicks experience. That said, the increase in resolution from 720p is an incremental out of, so it is not the be all and end all of image quality in projectors. More specifically the source data you feed it is what really brings out the quality. Divers HD feed materials (from cable or satellite) don't everlastingly approach the inherent resolution of the projector, so at this subject only blu-ray source material will really relinquish the utmost in high resolution detail (and not even all disks, depending on the unusual mastering, etc.). Calibration is tougher!!
I acquire been playing with the HD20 for last couple of days. I am in addition not sure what to say. Unlike any of my previous projectors(Optoma HD31 and HD70) it gives u too numberless options to calibrate. I guess that is a good factor. However,I am still struggling with this function and seems like quite overwhelming to me. Good aspect is picture is much bigger and brighter than HD70. Wonderful wide is a nice option. However, in terms of imagine details I am still not sure what to say especially with the downloaded HD soothe. Apparently it needs lot more tweaking( and hard business) to calibrate it properly. I was reading different forums and there I pore over that it actually needs 100 odd hours for the bulb to pioneer calm down down. So that might be the reason too. Hence, to summarize, in terms of largeness and brightness, the improvement is significant. But as of now sadly I cannot say that in terms of sketch quality and details. I will keep u updated as I prolong continuing the calibration process.Update:...

Celebrated for Home or Work! VERY Impressed!
I did my homework for months, looking for a projector that I could use for my Power Spike presentations at work so I wouldn't have to keep borrowing from our IT area. I didn't want to have to spend $$1,000s on one either. Some of the absolutely good ones can be quite costly. At the same moment, I didn't want one that couldn't provide an not at all bad, sharp picture. I also wanted it for home use to represent movies at home or do movie-maker picture presentations for family gatherings. Not lone was this projector priced reasonably (I bought extract refurbished for under $300!) but it is so simple to operate and the image is just great!!! I set it up on a table 6ft away from the embankment and get sharp, clear resolution with a screen measurements of about 5x3 ft. It is light and compact and I carry it around with comfort compared with the cumbersome units I used to arrange to check out. I only hope that I get lots of use from it in the forefront the lamp wears out. Only time will state. I hear that a lamp is costly to...

To see the big understanding...
I acquire used this little projector for more than a year and I bent it. It is soooooo portable. I don't leave home without it. It is intense enough to use in most situations. The picture is extremely settle. It weighs almost nothing, and the fact that it has an LED bulb means that you don't force to worry about a long cool off period ahead you move it an pack it away to travel. It doesn't get too hot. It is skimpy, with big results. I have used it in a large classroom from much more than the 8 foot detachment mentioned, and had a large clear picture. it is great for movies or presentations. We cart it camping and show movies on the side of the motorhome. Put this work with a mini speaker and a netbook, and you have an unimpaired office in a lunch box sized case. A wonderful outcome!

Out-and-out travelling companion!
I wanted a packed projector that could be used on roadshow presentations and not desire a separate piece of luggage to carry it around so took a hazard on this. It is terrific and I could not be more pleased. The one and alone drawback is the lumen strength; it does require a veritably darkened room or a smaller screen as the resolution deteriorates the bigger the spitting image gets but the point of this machine is not to present to 500 people at a conclave but a small group on 6' x 6' screen and for that, it works letter for letter esepcially at less than $500.

Presumably an empty company
I placed an required for this projector, and had and email from the sellers website the system has been canceled on the same night, a week later I gain in my bank account that I was still charged for this article. I contacted them with 4 emails but with no faultless answer. I contacted Amazon.com and was told by them I can but contact the seller and wait PATIENTLY for their vim.Personally, I wouldn't recommend anybody to buy from this seller. Purposes if you paid an extra $20 you will be definitely buying a portion of your own mind!!
