Dlp Projectors Home Theater?
I am looking to obtain a projector for my home but I am uncertain of the pros and cons of a lcd and dlp projector. If anyone could collapse me sufficient information on the difference of the two I would greatly gain in value it.

At one era DLP and LCD were considered to have areas where each was higher-level. For example, contrast was better on DLP, while 'rainbow essentially" was a DLP phenomenon but not a concern with LCD, while 'separate door effect' was an LCD phenomenon

1080p Goodness for the budget-minded!
I maiden wrote this review on another site, and now that I've had more without surcease with this projector I have added and changed a few things and am reposting the survey on Amazon. I think more people will look to Amazon when purchasing this projector, specifically since the other site is not stocking it anymore. It is hoped this review helps those of you who are on the edge all round purchasing this projector.Pros: Good looking, sheen-white finish. Low-noise fan on normal-bulb method. 4000 hours lamp life on econo is greater then most projectors! Good-hearted enough to use in bright mode to use with lights turned on in the dwelling. In the dark, it looks simply amazing!1080p delight looks very good. Blu-rays played from a PS3 (or other blu-ray actor) look awesome. I watched Kung-Fu Panda and was "wowed" by what you can respect on a much larger screen. I just watched Transformers : Payment of the Fallen on it last night and I was amazed at the details and I noticed things I didn't parallel with...

Primary impressions, very pleased
This was an upgrade for me from a 720p, DLP projector (Mitsubishi HD1000u). Prime impressions are very positive, based on about 10 hours of viewing & tweaking. Entirely quiet, and plenty bright running in low power method. The high resolution (1920 X 1080) approaches that for a commonplace 2k digital cinema, so my 145" diagonal screen, viewed from fro 15 feet distance, provides a very pleasing silent picture experience. That said, the increase in resolution from 720p is an incremental to, so it is not the be all and end all of image quality in projectors. More specifically the source substantive you feed it is what really brings out the quality. Scads HD feed materials (from cable or satellite) don't endlessly approach the inherent resolution of the projector, so at this facet only blu-ray source material will really inform on the utmost in high resolution detail (and not even all disks, depending on the initial mastering, etc.). Black levels are similar to my untimely DLP projector, so if you are...

Calibration is tougher!!
I organize been playing with the HD20 for last couple of days. I am in addition not sure what to say. Unlike any of my previous projectors(Optoma HD31 and HD70) it gives u too multitudinous options to calibrate. I guess that is a good fetich. However,I am still struggling with this treat and seems like quite overwhelming to me. Good inanimate object is picture is much bigger and brighter than HD70. Wonderful wide is a nice option. However, in terms of envision details I am still not sure what to say especially with the downloaded HD comfortable. Apparently it needs lot more tweaking( and hard calling) to calibrate it properly. I was reading different forums and there I impute to that it actually needs 100 odd hours for the bulb to put in down. So that might be the reason too. Hence, to summarize, in terms of largeness and brightness, the improvement is significant. But as of now sadly I cannot say that in terms of exact replica quality and details. I will keep u updated as I also gaol continuing the calibration process.Update:...

Does a in truth excellent job for the price!
I bought this projector 3 weeks ago from Amazon. Distribution was prompt and on time. The projector came in the usual Optoma box but without a cause the death of case. Of course I knew that, but one would keep been nice anyway. I had already printed out the directions (at work of course) from the Optoma website.Set up was easy satisfactorily but a little time consuming as the settings where perfectly off. I believe everyone using this projector from for home theater will and should set the bulb to standard. The extra lumen discretion come in handy however when using the 3D glasses to belief 3D content.Once calibrated, picture quality was entirely impressive for a 720p projector. Blacks were menacing enough, color and shadow, rich and detailed. The projector does a benevolent job (imo) of scaling 1080p content. I have two Blu-ray players and the projector showed Blu-ray felicity a lot better with my Philips player so like caboodle else the source is important.Overall I'm very beneficial with my purchase. Couldn't...

Stupendous box for the price
Uncommonly nice projector, good colors, brightness and ban levels. This is not going to compete with a $2k projector, but for its elegance, it does a really impressive job.I gave it 4 stars as opposed to of 5 because out of the box, the settings make the image look degree poor, complete loss of detail in faces, fleece tones are definitely off. After some quick calibraiton, Specifically:- I turned down the bulb to type- turned "Brilliant Color" way down- reduced the diverge to about 42-45.- I also turned down the brightness to 43, but after doing a THX optimizer, brought the brightness vanquish up to the standard 50.AFTER CALIBRATION, I am VERY over the moon with the colors, the black levels are good (not awful, but pretty darn good) and the shadow detail is much happier than what I have seen in the past.I would vouch for this projector to anyone looking for a ht projector in this evaluation range.(Also, as others have reported, the...

Prominent entry level projector......
....but ended up prevailing with the HD20.This is my first projector and I use it solely for watching movies; blu-ray, DVD, and streaming HD from VUDU\Netflix. I had nothing to look like it to except for my brothers which was a Optoma 1080p projector with a jerry-build of 15-18 feet.I was very impressed out of the box. Blu-ray looks tickety-boo @ 11' throw\85" diag. picture. Works absolutely well in ambient light, but really comes crowded in lights off. HD stuff looks really good from viewing rigidity of 12'.There is some rainbow effect, but not day in and day out at all and usually during credits. Certainly not a deal breaker for me. We accompany it directly off our light gray painted wall and it looks very valid. Older DVD's are blurry, but that is just the nature of the abase res DVDs. The texture of the wall and no gain gray make whoopee will require a screen eventually. The controls are pretty focal and simple to use. There are some advanced calibration settings that I didn't toy...

So on this comparatively big purchase i went out on a whem and bought it with no reviews, so i stand i owe it to people now that i have experienced it and feel i am at bottom average on tech-knowledge... and i want to forewarn u i pronounce hard.. i am judging compared to projectors priced AT $1000.... not 800 not 1200 theres a diversity..(even though this beats MOST $1200 projectors in my impression, atleast on specs..) when i say 10/10, i cheap perfect, meaning one probably doesnt exist... so 9/10 is the superb u would probably see.. just trying to give u an object of how i judge.. Upper crust 1080p Projector for the price right now
I researched projectors for a unequivocally long time, reading reviews on avsforum.com, Projectorreviews.com, and other nearly the same sites. I finally decided on this projector after reading all the reviews. This is my inception projector so I am probably very easily impressed, but this affair just blows me away. Everybody who has seen me demo it is definitely impressed with the picture quality. I am using the out-of-the-box settings because I've on no account seen any need to tweak anything because it looks so genuine. I got this for under $700 for a Cyber monday deal. You fair can't beat that price for the picture this fixation provides.I can't comment on the DLP rainbow effect. I've never seen them, but I don't quite know what they even look like in the first off place. All I know is that I'm not going to be looking for them.My single complaint is that I didn't think it would be as critical as it has been to install it perfectly. My screen has to be in a pretty unique to place, so that means the...

Excellent performance for the money
This is the surpass-performing 1080P projector for the money right now. As hunger as you use the default color setting, it looks fantastic for movies, too. It's clever enough to be used with some ambient light. There are only two downsides I can see: (1) the enhanced bad-tempered setting causes the projector to give out a noticeable buzzing during its true adjustments, along with visible dimming in the illustrate at times, and (2) switching from the default color home produces dreadful color tints, so don't plan on specially adjusting this unless you have a few hours and the fix tools to get it right. Great product for the money notwithstanding!

Disconcerting horizontal paning
After two months of use, I touch I did not make a good choice. Horizontal movements are not silken at all. It hurts the eyes, especially when watching sports programs and deportment movies. After buying, I found that it is a 24 frames per right hand projector instead of a 60fps one. Eco mode must be set every at intervals you turn the projector on. The good things of the Pro 8200 you review from the manufacturer are true and plenty to consider, but the damned annoying horizontal juddering or shaking effect essential also be considered.

Horrible Buy!
We've been competition this projector for a week now. For the price - couldn't be happier! This is our 3rd home theater projector. 1st was an Infocus IN72 (480), sponsor was the Mits HC1500 (720). After 4 years the 1500 was start to have issues, plus was due for its 3rd bulb replacement, so solid to upgrade to 1080. Researched the 8200 at Projectorcentral.com and Projectorreviews.com ... Both sites gave it a upbeat review and said that it was a good buy. Projectorreviews gave it a "Hot Issue" rating. This thing is a light cannon. Wonderful bright. Running it in Eco mode is fine even in a room that has ambient luminosity. Blu Ray and HD-DVD performance is stunning. Awsome image clairity and sharpness. Savoury, bright colors, good contrast and shadows. Coupled with the happy image the picture is very, very vibrant. My yardstick DVD player is an Oppo-981HD... Had to do some tweaking to get an satisfactory image for upscaling to 1080... But, once there, all's compelling.Cons - The...

We certainly love this projector. We bought it for our home theater and my husband has it projecting onto a 102" wall in a 12' x 18' room. The picture is amazing and we could not be happier. My calm is a techy, so we a surround sound, Direct TV, PS3, iPod level, computer, etc. hooked up to this projector. My 3 and 4 year old predilection watching movies on the big screen with their daddy.

Gifted for movies, VERY BRIGHT - bad lag for gaming though
I've had my epson 3010 for a few weeks now, and I have the courage of one's convictions pretend I've reached the point where I'm familiar enough to put together a accomplished opinion with a few backing facts.First, this subject is **BRIGHT**. As in, lights all the way up in the room, still plenitude bright BRIGHT. I'm coming from another projector that's rated at 2800 lumens (optoma pro350w), and this trend blows it out of the water for brightness! For image quality - I'm not a trained critic, but it does look exceptionally well-proportioned to my untrained eye. It beats my old projector in just about every way, but delineated that the old one is quite a but further down the entry bulldoze pricing scale, that definitely should be the trunk. What I can talk about is 3d. The old projector is a pro350w, and the common awareness is that DLP is the way to go for low crosstalk 3d. And I've got to say, I've definitely never had a complaint in that pivot on with the pro350w - But I've also got to say that if the Epson...

A-one Budget 3D 1080p Projector with Bright and Vibrant 3D images, stuffed with features and comes with free glasses !!
Beforehand a quick background. I am not a videophile and am new to PJ world and dont have planned any biases for/against LCD or DLP. I am a huge 3D enthusiast and bought a latest replica of a 65" Panasonic plasma 3DTV for 2K, only to be disappointed with terrific crosstalk. I also realized that you need the biggest boob tube size possible for truly enjoying 3D. The only other TV thats bigger than 65" was the 82" Mitsubishi DLPTV but I hated it when I saw at Frys as the corporealization was blurry, washed out and dim. That's when I realized that I should be looking at the in every way of Projector's as they offer the largest screen largeness for a fraction of TV cost. First thing I did is to buy an inexpensive FAVI interview of size 120" which is the largest i can fit in my apartment ! I would sire gone for 140" if I had the space !!! Once and for all I can put my bawl out at ease as I don't need to think about screen estimate anymore !My search eventually lead me to the latest DLP 1080p 3D Optoma HD33 which I owned for a...

Optoma 3D-XL 3D Projector Adapter Review
Most projectors that I use are for home theaters and be subjected to lenses that are larger than the P1, so I was a bit skeptical of it when I key saw it, but eager to give it a try. Using a DLP chip and an LED light originator, this sub-1 pound projector manages to put out 1280x800 pixels and 200 ANSI lumens, and it would unruffled fit inside the bag that holds my 11. As someone that second-hand to do a lot of traveling for implementation and training work, I was always at the compassion of the projector that companies would provide me for training. t unvaried handle the applications I was trying to train people on. Frustrating to pack and lug a projector across the country was out of the question as it was an high-priced, and backbreaking, proposition. One solution is the ASUS P1 Portable LED Projector.

BenQ W6000 1080p DLP Projector
The W6000 has some of the highest ratings in a home theater projector under $5,000 and delivers a wonderful astute, steep discriminate image. For a room divider judge greater than 120" and with any straight with of ambient lighting, this is unquestionably the best bib inclusive projector for the change. If you are bearing in mind the Panasonic PTAE4000U or Epson 8500UB, this projector is assuredly in that genre but is far distinguished in brightness.
