First-rate songwriter practice tool
I am delighted I got this. I ve been thru many... (Tascam 244 80's, Tascam 688, DA 38 etc). You recognize, sometimes the purest easiest lightest quickest type of equipment is the best one for writing and/or practicing. Quick at once? Before the idea goes away! Great for on the go, at a friends for nothing, outside, even fits in my piano bench!!!. Dont surmise fancy stuff, the signal you feed is what you get but I partiality that for this purpose. Highly recommended for immature and old. The basics, but GREAT!

Uncomplicated and Useful
I purchased this Tascam recorder to harken to to some 4 track tapes that I made over 10 years ago and it meets my needs precisely for that. The MF-P01 is a simple 1 input recorder, which I think would be eminent for capturing a quick run through of a song, and then edifice on that one track at a time. The recorder's controls are laid out in a simple and uncomplicated to understand manner, so it's easy to jump right in and start recording. On the straighten out side you have the tape mechanism, with a anger open lid, and the familiar tape controls: play, narrate, etc. There's also an analog counter, with a reset button, to maintain track of tape positions. On the left you have the levels and to rights controls. The individual volume wheels for each track experience notches indicating the 0 level and are painted diagonally with two peculiar colors that allows the user to quickly dekko at the dials to see the volume level. The pan and master volume are controlled by meander knobs, that are totally...

Rectitude For Class & Mtg Lectures
I use this for rank to record lectures. I sit in the front and I pick up adequate amplification. However, if someone in the 4th by virtue of 6th row asks a question, it is a difficult to hear. During playback, I would rather to turn up the volume on those sections.A few things I order I had were* a LED light signalling that I was recording. I set up accidently forgotten to press the record button and at most hit play. So, I have dead air.*Auto shutoff when I am recording and get to the end of the seal. It doesn't shut off and it makes this screeching (but not too snazzy) noise when it hits the end of the tape. Which is sort of embarrasing. i have to pay attention to where the tape is at, which you can see finished with the window.* It doesn't have a counter on it, so if I am taking notes, I can't correspond with down the position I am at during the note taking.Yet, for the price, I got what I paid for. It is a modest recorder. I have no complaints, only suggestions I want to get when I...

Terrific recorder, misleading output title
Wouldn't you over a product whose title reads "with Dual Power Well-spring" would actually include the AC adapter? Not in this proves, although I can order one separately. If you in fact want the AC adapter to get to in the same package as your cassette recorder, be sure you order the Sony TCM-210DV, which I now recognize is the model I should have ordered. The TCM-210DV appears to be comparable to the TCM-200DV but includes the AC adapter.Although I don't have the AC adapter I wanted as guaranty for the occasions on which I record on tape, the recorder performs nothing but fine on battery. I use it primarily to play audiobooks from the infamous Public library, because a Walkman or other play-at worst motor is not powerful enough for old, worn cassettes.

Cost is right
This is a attractive little recorder and the price is right. I got it for my folks because they wanted to be qualified to record my niece and nephew and because the new digital technology was a scanty overwhelming. This is a very sturdy little participant/recorder, easy to use, and great if you still have cassettes falsification around.

"Undemanding"?? DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ!!
I've conditions written an online review before. But my experience with this consequence was, and continues to be so unpleasant, I feel I owe it to potential unsuspecting buyers to apportionment what has happened to me. I bought TWO of these packages at $59 each at A- Buy three weeks ago- as of right now I am THREE WEEKS into my failed attempts to making either organized whole install or function in any way. I bought TWO of these systems. One for an approximately new HP Vista Home Premium 64 bit laptop as without difficulty completely as my very well maintained XP Pro 32 bit (service have had it 3) desktop PC. I found it interesting that I had entire failure in my attempts to install or use this packages on either computer - friendly of taking any validity out of the argument, "well there is evidently just something wrong with your PC." But BOTH PCs?!Of certainly the next argument would be that I'm just some jerk that doesn't even know how to find the power twine on a computer. But in fact I am a sound engineer by...

not so well-disposed
I recently bought this from amazon. Importance of captured video is not so good...grainy and colors not careful. But the most annoying issue is that as you are capturing the video, it randomly gives the "PROTECTED SIGNAL" trespass and stops the process. ROXIO website does not specify much help on this issue. It says this typographical error will appear if you are capturing copyrighted video. But these are my own homemade movies I am tiring to capture! What is the point of purchasing this if I cannot use it on my own harshly videos?? And by the way, good luck trying to get any help from ROXIO on this egress...they don't even want to acknowledge that the emotionally upset exists. I did a search on google and found that divers people are facing the same issue. So unless and until ROXIO fixes this bug, I suggest against purchasing this product.

Too much plague - too few answers
I am putting this in a drawer hoping updates occur, knowing that I can't return software no matter how crappy it effectiveness turn out to be. My bad for buying a new product with no reviews. Not till hell freezes over again. It is not usable for me at the moment. I suppose it is possible that there is something I don't identify that would help, but good luck verdict anything out from the maker, their website, or the "vade-mecum" included with the product. The biggest problems are unpremeditatedly hard freezes forcing computer shutdown to adopt and non-recognition of audio from VHS tapes (AFTER the program update as definitely). The other deal-breaker is, as mentioned in an earlier reading, random "signal protected" designation as the home video catching is attempted, aborting the capture process. The long and the cut in on of it is, at least on my system, this product is completely incompetent.Until you hear differently, I'd go in another direction.

This element is the business
This is my favorite toy at the flash. I bought it to use it for what it's supposed to be used for - a multitrack recorder. I wanted to itemize myself playing rhythm guitar and then do some supervise over the top.I own a decent Yamaha cassette tape 4-track from the current 80's. How far things have come since then! The DP004 runs from 4AA batteries and fits in the pinch of a pair of baggy shorts. Sure, it's only got 2 audio inputs, no EQ and you can only record 2 tracks at once, but for the price it's fantastic functionality. The alcohol guide is well written and very comprehensive - 111 pages in all.If you're bothersome to use it to record lectures or other lengthy stereo performances, you've picked the disgraceful tool. It will do it, but it only records in 44.1kbps, 16bit WAV style - big files! If you need to record lectures, buy a dictaphone. The supplied 1GB SD show-card (ATP brand for mine) is only useful for learning how to use the ring. I put an 8GB Transcend SDHC card in...

Tascam DP004 Digital Purloin Studio
I use it for recording acoustic violin and Yamaha P-90 electronics piano.Pro 1: Use very well and its compact size.Pro 2: Built-in internal microphone is exceptional.Minor Con 1: There is no preamp capability. A phantasma power adapter or preamp is required for most microphones.Subordinate Con 2: The optional power supply PS-P520 is not a generic 5-volt AC adapter. The DC push shape is not standard. If AC adapter is not an option to you, you need to expend another $20 to $30 on this adapter.One-horse Con 3: The two microphone/line-in inputs are both ¼", not 3-pin XLR. This is not a trouble for guitars. For XLR microphone, XLR to ¼" adapter is required.

When all is said--an intuitive digital 8-track
After unsatisfactory a digital multi-track for a long time, I finally unambiguous on this model, and I'm glad I did.One thing that is not included in a muster of specs is the usability factor. I've purchased my share of electronic devices for making and recording music all over the years. Just looking at a dry list of specs has again been my method of deciding on what to buy. Well, on files the DP-008 looks good, but it's not until you use this to cut a few tracks that you clear how well it is designed. I'm SOOOO glad I didn't buy the DP-004, as this beau id is clearly the results of Tascam eliminating the weaker aspects of the 4 track paragon just in time for the 8 track version.I have seen a lot of digital multi-tracks that look commodities on paper, but to use them is a real pain. The fact that the DP-008 has all the person track knobs means that you don't have to go flipping as a consequence pages on a menu or choosing the "hot track" in some other way. Here it's all laid out...

an technician scales down and gets back to recording
So fitting as a point of reference, I'm an audio engineer. I went to view to be one and had my own ADAT based project studio for a while afterward. I was trained on buttons and knobs. One-time to, during, and after all that I had home gear that ranged from a boombox to 4-track cassettes, to the aforementioned ADAT, to PC recording. All the while as a musician as much as conspire. That said ... I love the 008. It's not talented, but I love it.Features:Brilliant. Compact, all the input options you'd scarcity including phantom power, excellent decisions on what to pull someone's leg dedicated controls for vs. being menu items (keep for the EQ, but that's a space hog, so I'm willing to accept the compromise), and potentially numberless memory.Interface:Considering my background, I'm generally not a fan of PC recording, I pick the tactile nature of buttons and knobs over mice and pointers. And the 008 has instantly recognizeable bind transport control...

Tascam, you've understandable a long way baby
My at the outset Portastudio was a cassette tape Tascam 244 circa 1980/81. It was weighty for it's time and I used it so much the record head in fact wore down. I moved on to an updated version of the cassette portastudio years later then got away from recording. Now I'm forsake into music and recording so I thought I'd give Tascam another by no chance. I started with the 4 track DP-004 and loved it so much I intimately returned it and ordered the DP-008 which was a wise resolution. This is simply an amazing unit in every way.At ahead I was concerned that the menu driven system with a jog to what place would be cumbersome and slow but I was very pleasantly surprised. It's intuitive, rakishly and powerful. As a former portastudio user the learning curve for me was penniless. The ability to easily import/export tracks and swap SD cards between DP-008s (exact a DP-004 to a DP-008) is nice. The built in reverb is solid and the condenser mics are excellent. Although you can mixdown and director...

"Was it the way you pictured it?"

I had neck managed to discombobulate a discard together a yoke songs using my past computer (a crappy Compaq PC) and the Shitting Glitter 4-track band recorder, but these were plumb limiting and nothing I would still privation people to ascertain. By 2008, I had some skeletal fragments of songs that could possibility go on a Devin Tait solo album, and it was nearly that yet that I got the mettle to in fact start giving away the whole show people what I was working on. One of the fundamental songs I came up with was... That was the in the first place turning focus for me. After playing that ditty and then working on more songs after she died, it extraordinarily spurred me to spawn my own songs. I had made some demos for Shitting Glitter, did some remixes and worked on songs for some other people, but roughly 2007 or so I started in fact working on some of my own songs.
