Best Two-way Radios?

Most companies I be acquainted with use Motorola.

However you have to be careful now that digital handsets are tasteful more common, headsets etc that work with the old, analogue, models won't business properly with the digital ones.

Lofty radios, BUT
The radios by themselves are creditable, but be careful to read the fine print. The first values bright and early I went to use the radios one of them didn't have a full assess on it. No problem, I just used AA batteries. Then we realized we could only hear each other through the headphones yet with the radios turned to max volume. I thought it might be the headphones, but they were bare loud when plugged into a friend's disseminate made by a different company. Midland blamed it on the headphones anyway, but they were not covered beneath the warranty. So I didn't use the radios again for a few months until we went on another jaunt and I made sure to place the radio on the charger a day at this time so it would have ample formerly to charge. Same problem one radio didn't have recourse to but half a charge. I contacted Midland on Friday explaining my plight, they got back to me on Wednesday to say there was probably an outcome with the battery pack (No duh). I emailed backside around 10:30 am and said I figured that much,...

Don't imagine 36 mile range
All manufacturers enlarge the range of these little radios. I have used these to ascertain users on top of a 14,000 foot mountain from 6 miles away, but there were no obstructions between me and them. That's the best disassociate I've achieved. I had a lower power version of these and they worked ably for several years before one of them died. I saved its battery as a do without for these and I can still use the one working with these. Most Midlands use the unaltered rechargeable batteries, although you might carry at least four alkalines along if you conjecture to be away from the recharger for more than a day. If you're camping out you dominion want to establish a timetable to use them to extend battery life-force. They have excellent channel security, either with by a hair's breadth two of them or in a group. Hearing other users of the despite the fact channel can get very annoying. The numerous privacy choices check that almost 100%. Like others, in a megalopolis or any enclosed space the range is very limited. The headsets can be usable of...

True level Better Than I Expected!
In the days I have taken walkie talkies to the State Rosy and they were unusable because of all the chattering accepted on. I brought the Midland GXT1000VP4 radios to the fair and randomly selected a medium and privacy setting. They worked perfectly. Not one other ourselves broadcasted on the same channel (200,000 people in assemblage). We could hear each other crystal unsophisticated. You either get a crystal clear signal or no signal at all with these radios; there is conditions any static. They lasted the whole day on one charge and the battery pointer still read full. The only complaint that I be suffering with is when putting them on the charger, it takes a bit of menuvering to get the direct blame light to go on...and I have had it go off after about 15 minutes ahead. In that case I reseated the one radio again and the unclear stayed on for the whole charging period.

Other than features and amazing range
Win initially of all, all the distances advertised on any walkie talkie like this is based on mountain top to mountain top communication, where the valley increases the stretch, and no obstruction. That is where they based the 35 miles. For burgh use, in malls, house to house and areas with trees choose be between .5 to 1 mile at most. Since I maintain been using Motorola Walkie talkies all my life story so I knew what I was buying.I experimented with 3 several models of Walkie talkies in the mall with my little woman. First we tried the 5 mile Motorola. I was on one end of the mall in jail Macy's and she was on the other side in Nordstrom. She could not unchanging hear me.We tried the 10 mile Motorola. This in the good old days b simultaneously she could hear me press the talk button and a few garbled words, but that was it. We could not converse with.We tried these 35 mile ones at length. We were able to hear each other barely fine. Not bad considering the distance and the number of obstructions.I partake of also...

Motorola MR350R vs Midland GXT1050
I would Goad you to read WILFREDO M VIRAY'S ("Wally") EXCELLENT, Downright and THOUGHTFUL review. There's not much more I can say. How, a few friends have asked "why would anyone use a two-way crystal set when cell phones do the 'same' thing?" I subsist direcly under a bluff in the midwest. Cross mountains ski, walking and bike trails, and one of our country clubs are there as amply. Cell phones don't work very well in these areas. This can also be unwavering when you're traveling. A two-way radio can put you in touch with a LOT of sources you cannot reach with a room phone... truckers, for example. Forget the stereotype - these guys can be lifesavers on the uncover road. Two way radios are free of roaming charges, and they'll effort ANYWHERE - NO cell phone network can make that demand. We also use these radios (and their "predecessor," the Motorola T9500XLR) EXTENSIVELY at trade. (We now have TEN pair.) The building is concrete and stiffen, and no matter where you...

First-rate Headphones - ridiculous cable needed for MP3
I bought these headphones to enervate while woodworking and cutting the grass. I am happy to say that they do a Matchless job. They have switches on the back of the right headphone that are friendly to reach while you are wearing them. The top switch is the cacophony cancelling/amplification switch and the bottom one is the radio on/size. The noise cancelling/amplification is amazing. I switched it on and I heard the font across the street and birds chirping as if they were to be honest in front of me. Then I picked up a hammer and slammed it down on the workbench and I heard the hammer hit, but it sounded as if I tapped the bench. That is the asset of these headphones - you can hear everything, but not to a damaging be open. You still get the feedback you need from your tools but it is at a standing that is pleasant. You can even listen to the radio and tranquil hear everything you need to provided you don't turn up the air volume too loud - you shouldn't need to since you are blocking out the...

Sport than expected
I create this set to be very impressive. The noise blocking is distinguished to say the least. Along with the built in radio ineluctable makes yard work a pleasure while race landscaping equipment a couple hours per week. What I base very impressive is the active surround sound. When turned off, you are barrel isolated from all sounds around you. When you circuit on the surround sound, you actually hear everything as if you were not wearing this component and actually louder as it will amplify slightly, but you you be struck by full volume control for that as well.I repossess the radio to perform very well. I believe those that complained in other reviews on all sides the web were probably in areas with a lot of buildings or structures which would look out for to cause that. Out in the open, I never experience static on a former occasion a station is tuned in.Now If radio commercials drive you mad, then here's a modest fix. I purchased the audio cable that allows accouterment of other audio devices such...

Trouble with headset
The item worked as advertised EXCEPT the AM radio is sensitive to conducting. When I turn my head to a certain direction, while listening to the ghetto-blaster, the station fades. This is very annoying while working in my betray or mowing the lawn. This happens only with the AM disseminate not the FM radio.I talked to an engineer at peltor and they are wise of this problem, but they do not seem to be planing to do anything wide it.

Firm, reliable, great battery life
I couldn't be much happier with this module. Where it really shines is in battery life. I've adapted to this in various 4x4 competitions and my teammates use some much larger, clunky handhelds that lack 10 batteries and eat them up quick (several sets in a weekend). I use 6 nicads in my midland element and they last and last. Its a pretty decent quick unit too with the adapter. With an external antenna the collection is tremendously improved. My only real complaint is that I hope that there was a way to lock the backlighting on when using the car adapter - this would score it easier to use at night.

Sated Feature, great price
All the complaints I've conclude from about this scanner are pretty pointless. This is the best Penmanship Held scanner I've ever owned. Go to Sears or Best Buy, see what HH CB's they participate in in, Probably just one, the Cobra 37 ST. Does that receive channel scan, 5 memories, memory scan, freq. ceremony, REAL mobile adpater not just a car power string, NOPE. How much do they want? $40 in Best buy, and get this, $79.99 in sears, meet approval their website. The problems with range take place with any handheld. I dont see the problem, take any helping hand held in a car and its range will go way down, But midland is only company that provides you with an external antenna hookup/power rope combined and make your radio the size of most mic's, you lip-service go wrong. The best you'll get from others is a DC power cable, but no way to lock an external car antenna to it. and they will still be occupied length. You could also MOD this unit to pick up 120 channels CB (all you necessity to do is solder one connection...) if your more proficient,...

closely-knit and versatile
This is a extraordinarily compact, well designed, and versatile unit that can be indisputably moved from one vehicle to another or used as a handi-talkie. The slew of useful features and sensitivity of the receiver pleasantly surprised me. With an outside antenna, I found the NOAA weather band usable with broadcasts 50 miles withdrawn and the CB effective at five miles. Adjacent channel selectivity is relatively good. Perhaps the only limitation in this item is the relatively low audio output that might insist near maximum volume when the windows are uncover at highway speeds. But, audio quality is very solid with no distortion even at maximum volume.

FCC Empower Required!
I cannot state one's position to the quality of the device, but only that we are unable to use ours because nowhere on this offshoot's page here is there an indication that the logo requires an FCC license. YOU MUST GET AN FCC LICENSE! Go to the FCC website and situate one of the "Frequency Coordinators" to complete the application process if you determine that a license is worth the effort and added outlay (over $400 half of which is the fee for a 10-year allow). Do a web search for the CLS-1110 manual to get detailed specs for easing the employment process. I wouldn't have bought this ghetto-blaster if I knew a license was required.
