Lotta 'box for a itsy-bitsy bux
Yes, it's a corny inscription, I know; what's not corny is this sweet trivial boombox from Sony. It was little difficult to realize a unit like this with all of the features I was in the demand for, since boomboxes seem to be on the way out -- at least in their old configurations.Mellifluous much gone are days of tape, but I guess that there are some folks out there who assuage like cassettes; these are the people who will be exultant with the CFDS05's built-in tape deck - I resolution probably never use it. The other features, such as digital AM/FM tuner with numerous presets, CD-R/RW talented compact-disc player, and AUX-in jack for portable music players, are moral what I was looking for!+ The sound, while not audiophile blue blood, is pleasantly full and crisp; the longstanding Sony Mega Bass have a role helps the lower end a little, but don't expect miracles. All in all, it's a simple nice sound from a not-too-huge footprint.+ The digital tuner works skilfully, picking up the new...

easy on the eyes good sound for the size of the unit, but needs more bass!!!
PROS:1. buttons (except cassette) are located promising on the front in one place, and are clearly labeled and easy to use2. voice can be turned up WAY WAY louder than I would probably use it with no distortion3. CD actor features these modes: program, shuffle, reprise disc, repeat track4. plays both cd-R AND cd-RW (copies you made and professionally made ones)5. jolly light weight6. big handle for carrying7. audio postal card in for iPod or other device is located right on the face8. headphone jack9. GOOD RELIABLE BRAND10. cassette recorder and DIGITAL disseminate too, with memory presets for radioCONS:1. Little power cord (about 5 feet long at the most) which cannot be replaced with my generic longer ones because of the remodel of the opening for it2. so-called "BASS BOOST" makes so diminutive difference that you can't tell it's on except by looking at the exhibition!!!! NEEDS EQUALIZER!!!3. can't see...

Record Eater!!! Beware!
I'm surprised that this is a Sony work. This boom box eats cassette tapes. Its a avid little terror!I purchased this "device" as a genius for my husband who wanted to record CDs on to cassette tapes. Why? Because he had a cassette contestant in his car and didn't want to put in a CD player. Ok, so he's not up to date with new technology but this is what he wanted for Christmas. On the gimmick itself, it has letters that say "Corder" not "recorder." When we beginning saw this, we wondered if Sony had short-changed us by not tossing in the "r and e." Odd, don't you weigh? We thought so.My husband liked the sound of the machine but when he'd click to choke up a cassette tape while recording, the boombox would rupture the cassette tape and "eat" it. THIS IS NOT GOOD!While I'm acutely aware of the age of some of my husband's cassettes, this logotype is being sold to play CDs and record them on to cassette tapes. The gizmo should not be destroying them...

A informative Upgrade to the Sony S2
TermsS2 = Sony ZS-XN30 Multi-Codec S2 Sports CD/Tuner Boombox (Spotless)H10 = Sony ZS-H10CP Heavy Duty CD Radio BoomboxBackground: I bought the H10 to substitute a defunct S2. I use three S2s and one H10 daily (and simultaneously) at a swimming consolidate, so I compare them daily. My biggest surprise is that, untoward to what the specs imply, the H10 sounds twice as flashy as the S2. Perhaps this is due in large part to the H10's significantly less ill base: there is noticeably more of it, and it is very antiseptic (has low distortion). I play the S2 with the Mega Bass button on, yet the H10 bass is so clear and clean that I leave the its Mega Bass off. "Specs connote" means that the specifications state that the H10 = 2.3 watts per tub-thumper vs 2.0 watts for the S2.The H10 is significantly easier to use than the S2: The S2's up-down Amount buttons have been replaced with a jumbo dial, the S2's jog control whose operation baffled open-handedly aerobic...

A Clod of a Boombox
A skilful caveat before I review. As of 5/12/2006 the Sony place (and Sears, too) still says this boombox takes 'C' batteries. It doesn't, it takes 'D' greatness, though a quantity of 6 is correct. I can't see that Amazon has included battery info. one way or the other. This is in all honesty an Industrial Strength boombox - extremely rugged. I bought one for my handicapped daughter, who needs scarcely constant music to keep her happy, but has been fetching rough on past boomboxes. This one ought to last.It is significantly larger than the so so portable boombox, so pay attention to the dimensions and weight to see if it's a fit for you.The lone weak spot is the antenna, which my daughter managed to opening the first day. Be careful how you restore it to its telescoped slot. We can't gather up a replacement antenna yet. Also, it lists on the Sony locale and at Sears for $129.99, so I don't know where this plot got a list price of $179.99.

Notable Product
I searched high-priced and low for a product like this and seriously, this was the on the contrary one that had it all ... plays regular and mp3 CDs, AM/FM radio, belt-in for any external player from laptops to mp3 players, no ineffectual cassette player to get in the way and most importantly, it has GREAT durable; plenty of volume and bass response. Yes, it's heavy deference. It is rugged enough to take along to the work area, keep in the garage, take camping, you name it; it has sealed compartments and spieler guards to protect from dust or hits; it has a unyielding handle built into a protective frame; it has a pocket-sized enough footprint to sit on most standard shelves ... also, it has a smarter, simpler look that I recognize; it doesn't look like some sci-fi robot or a travail of abstract art ... it is surprisingly light since the power providing is contained with the AC adapter (some might experience it a negative to have to lug around a heavier, bulky AC adapter, but it depends on your angle). The unit also contains...

Excellent Sony Boombox In A Long Time - With A Few Minuses
This is by far one of the best sounding CFD-G series boombox from Sony to boy. With all those years experimenting with assorted subwoofer sizes and enclosure volume and bass reflex seaport lengths, Sony has finally found the right equation in the 700CP. To convene this machine a boombox may be a bit of an insult, given the indulgent of sound it can deliver with its enormous speaker structure and a powerful bi-amplifier.The CFD-G700CP is huge. This is a boombox that requires so much mesa space it makes your Micro Hi-Fi (if you have one) look unqualifiedly small. I'm sure some will get turned off by its booming and aggresive look, but the teenagers and those young at core will love it. Especially the sound. The 700CP can grill out so much bass, if you have not seen the unit yourself, you'd be wondering if you're listening to the bass sounds from a mid-sized bookshelf Hi-Fi. Of procedure, all that bass is worth nothing if the system can one deliver loud punchy bass with muffled mids and...

Skilful for takeoff
Manifestly, it arrived yesterday, in the original packaging with the tape-record sagging, but the internal fitted-cardboard packaging protected the piece just fine. I lugged (that term old purposefully) the box into the kitchen, unboxed it, and set it on the kitchen inventory. Most of it (the table, I mean.) This unit is Enormous. It looks ready to take off, or strap it to your subsidize like the rocket pack from the Rocketeer (and it's relative to that same size). Pictures on the Amazon purlieus give you the breadth but not the depth of the sizing.Assuming you can feel the size, the main function of the unit - produce grandeur sound at high volumes - is worth the entry fee. Greek, simple vocal, pop, rock, country - excellent reverberate and reasonable tone-shaping controls - presets for lull, salsa, flat, and a couple of others do shape the sensible a bit. 3 levels for the bass add, tied to the red rim light on the center bass spieler.Controls are reasonably intuitive, although the...

Big look like!
Wealth of power with deep bass. This preoccupation sounds really good -- especially for the fee. It is a little on the heavy side at 21 pounds, without batteries. The center has a 5 1/8" subwoofer that's surrounded by a red neon lace into. Looks very cool and the subwoofer has 2 levels if you don't like your music too bassy. You can quid in just about any sound source you want played including the speakers.Highly recommended!

Can't whip the price. Bought mine last week and it came with a powercord.
This is holy for casual non audio-phile indoor/outdoor use. I bought this to be subjected to some tunes outside while myself and a few other workmen are restoring a barn on my quality. It is exactly what I needed. I wanted something I didn't feeling getting a bit messed up (paint splatters, dings, etc). It's insignificant, lightweight, inexpensive and very functional. The sound trait is decent (especially outdoors with other ambient discordance) and though it definitely doesn't have some cooler features (shambling, etc), it works great for what I wanted it for. I was worried after I present some of the reviews (after I purchased it) that it didn't be shown with a power cord, but mine did, so I was very blithe I didn't have to go out and find one that fit, though I fancy that wouldn't have been that bloody-minded at Radio Shack or some other type of keep. All around, I'd say it's a 4 stars for what it is. If you're expecting amazing indoor common-sense, I'd rate it lower, but it's obviously for pool-side or kids lodge style...

Hummm
Pro:1. Bantam 2. Tiny 3. Cute 4. Fair to middling radio reception even with very needful of antennaCon:1. Puny sound (but it's a tiny, low-priced stereo...) 2. IT HUMS. In radio or CD mode, there is a middling/low pitched hummming sound that comes through the music. Even when you're not playing a CD, there's the hum. I pondering it was just me, since I'm very sensitive to hums, but my bride (who doesn't care) noticed it, too, without my pointing it out.I MAY care for this boombox because it's cheap and cute, but the hum definitely does irritate me.

This stopped working after with a week.
When I was christmas shopping, I meditating this looked really cute, and I figured, "Hey, it's cheaply, and looks good." So I bought it. It worked euphonious well for the first couple of days, and then the CD playing pattern on it just decided to stop working. I checked all things that I effectiveness have possibly done wrong, but I didn't on any. When you try to load the CD, it doesn't let you play anything. I would not recomend this consequence for whoever wants to buy it, because it did not work like I wanted it to, and it made a bonny lousy Christmas present after I found out it had domesticated. DON'T BUY THIS.

Why wouldn't you buy this boombox?
It may appearance of like this is just another boombox in a conditions ending list of products whose faces interchange each year. On the surface this unit has reduced plastic parts, a big ugly 'X', and a silly little parade that is about as exciting as a clock radio from 1982. The parts such as the CD door could definitely be destroyed by a one-year-old (meaning, the child would not come across it very difficult at all). So, why would anyone want this $100 hunk of soft? And why was the unit I purchased the very last one on the shelf? And why in the in every respect is it missing features like "MP3 playback", and includes archaic features like "cassette deck"? You've got me! Fortunately, not one of this matters. For the purpose I bought it for--plugging in a transportable music player--this is the box that puts all the others to put down. For such a low price I doubt there is any product in the wonderful that delivers this kind of power and bass answer. Featuring 2 4" speakers AND a 4" subwoofer this constituent is ready...

A able sounding boombox
I ve everlastingly loved boomboxes and have owned dozens of them over and beyond the years. I have the Sony G55 that I still use,but Im everlastingly on the lookout for something bigger better and more resilient, and this is it. I tried it out in a local Best Buy, tuned to the close by FM station and I was blown away by the deep bass and seperation. When you can announce that in a crowded store thats a good weighty. I also wanted a line in for my portable dVD player and my roady2 from XM and I am least pleased.I wlways loved the "virtual surround" on some of these but I couldn t mark any unit with this kind of sound, understood surround and a line in, but this sure comes arrange.Only complaint is the lack of a lighted display, but I can flaming with that. With four different unbroken settings, the super woofer and a line in jack this is as closeto flawlessness I ve found in a boombox.

The first for the buck
I to with the review that is written underneath this one~ when you recieve it, it is not luring and you wonder "Where in the world will I put this id so it doesn't look like a space ship fair landed from Venus?" But when you turn it on.... It just now dosen't matter. It has the best sound I have endlessly heard from a portable and you will have no impecuniousness to own any other type of stero. If your looking for a CD gambler, this is the one.

Excuses & A Story

But the attitude that philanthropic of got me into vinyl was reading alongside how The Company 12 Looks Like You was putting out a 7" on distance from unripe vinyl little to 1,000 copies. Seeing the words "detach from fresh" next to "reduced to 1,000 copies" sparked my relaxation in vinyl. I went to my district Hot Keynote and purchased it.
